Rep Power: 13 | Adobe is yet to complain to European Commission European Commission has confirmed that they have not received any complaints from Adobe Systems related to the PDF feature integration in the upcoming MS Office 2007 suite by software giants Microsoft. The commission’s Spokesman Jonathan Todd however said that the EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes was very much concerned about the way the PDF format is being dealt by Microsoft. They plan to continue to remain in touch with the company on this issue. Adobe has asked Microsoft to pay royalties if they wanted to put a ‘Save to PDF’ feature in the MS Office suite. Microsoft has rejected this offer and is now considering offering this feature as an add-on for free to the users of MS Office 2007. Interestingly, rival Office Suite packages like OpenOffice comes with this option and are not bound to pay a royalty for this feature. |
