Rep Power: 12 | Launchy: Run command on steroids This application was recommended by a highly recommended source so we decided to give it a try. Launchy is a tiny Windows application designed to make it easier for the user to launch applications easily. It’s like the Run command on steroids. The application runs in the background indexing the shortcuts available on the system and the user just has to activate the application using a shortcut key and feed in some alphabets to get a list of guesses. The application is smart enough to get it right the first time and you can press the enter key to run the application. User can also set the application to index a larger number of file types in a variety of locations to get quick access to them. Launchy has been coded to primarily work on the Windows XP machine but Windows 2000 users can also download some files to get it working on their machines. We at TechWhack found this application to be pretty usable and this can become a potential replacement for the run command to quickly run an application or open up files from the computer. |
