Norton is a memory hogg from what i have used before, im not sure abt the new release.. but the old ones norton 2006 and earlier need so much memory.. and besides they are expensive..ofcourse cracked versions are available but are not recommended , you never know what code hackers add to it..
The key to this is being careful and not just open any attachment, not just go to any website.. etc etc.. if you are careful, you wouldnt have so many viruses and spyware on your pc

i agree that avoiding going to unnecessary websites will protect the computer form virus and spy ware

but still there are chances that you will get virus form other ppl like using a USB stick from an infected comp

so still there is a need for a good anti virus program

thats right..normally avg does the job for me..i dont say that norton is not good.. its actually very good.. but its a memory hogg.. norton and vista ..wow.. awesome combination..

is windows firewall enough. if not suggest a good free firewall software?

I have symantec antivirus corporate edition 2002. i update it every week. is it enough. if not suggest a good free spyware/antivirus software?
is spyware different from antivirus software? if yes how?

What about bit defender ?? I find it quite good...also NOD 32 and kaspersky.....
