Six Apart Ltd. has launched a new blogging tool aimed at enterprises. The company hopes that this new product named Movable Type Enterprise would make it easier for companies to introduce corporate blogging on their intranets and would help them to improve internal communications and knowledge sharing.

They have priced this product competitively and are hoping that it would be able to replace other similar tools designed to deliver similar collaboration and content-management benefits.

License of this product costs $4,000 and comes with an optional $2,000 yearly fee for customer support. This fee provides free product updates and a two-hour response time to questions.

The highlight features of this package are support for LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) authentication, Oracle 10g and user interface customization. It also supports some of the new features introduced in Movable Type 3.3 like tags, widgets, activity logs and stuff.

Six Apart already sells TypePad Business Class, a hosted service for companies and had earlier launched Movable Type Enterprise in Japan in March.
