Some registry entries did not get reset to the originals after u uninstalled safari. Go to the properties of any webpage icon then change the 'open with' program.

If that doesn't help then go to the options of firefox in advanced tab just set it to default web browser once again.

I suggest u get ccleaner to fix these minor registry issues. Its free to use and very effective.

also make ff your default browser
if works fine , if it doesn't then make IE default , then again change it to ff

When you are trying to uninstall a software use an uninstaller utility instead of default Add Remove Programs. Revo Uninstaller is a freeware uninstaller utility. It will remove almost every file and registry related to the software not just the main files like default Add Remove Programs. And then you can use CCleaner, another freeware utility to remove the remaining redundant files/registys.

I have reason to believe that CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner is better than CCleaner. But it is payware.
