| Hi, Guys which browser do you use ?? .....also post a reason if you have any for your reason for using the particular web browser .... Regards, Ed Reasons for Going with FF -->Greatest number of add-ons and themes -->Second fastest browser (after chrome) -->Most secure -->Open source (Google generously used firefox coding during the making of Chrome) ..That is why chrome too is open source... -->There is concern that Google which is notorious for tracking user stats will succeed in its attempt once Chrome is widely adopted.... Hence i find absolutely no reason to switch to chrome (my main surfing activities).....other Web browsers arent as good as FF Last edited by ShAdOwCoN; 09-10-08 at 01:46 AM. | Aditya | in this list my vote goes to firefox only coz i really dont like IE 6 and 7 but trust me IE 8 is much better thn other browsers and works better than firefox too.. till now i have'nt tried google crome as using windows 2000 but i think crome would be a good browser as its a google product.. aadi |

| Aditya | i agree with you just4kix that IE got about 70% of market and i m sure that you are aware why it got about 70%. just because of the fact that it's default browser of windows OS and comes with all windows OS, most of the domestic users in india dont want to take any chance with computers and dont modify it like that. apart from that as IE is the default browser so all organisations recomend using IE only and most of the work networks got websence which stops you from downloading anything on system which is not related to business.. so its obvious that stats will go up for IE only... just think if everyone in india starts using linux then what will happen to IE stats and data... do you think anyone will use it... |

If you have seen the percentage stats you would have noticed that IE 6 dominates the Browser usage not IE 7 !.Does that mean IE 6 is the best web browser, even better than IE7?? Most users are not aware of other options.....or not technically savvy enough to experiment.... But recently Firefox has been rapidly taking up a major part of the cake .....As you very well know that Firefox holds a Guinness World record for "The most number of downloads in 24 hours of Firefox3" 8.5 million downloads in 24 hours It wont be too long before Firefox comes neck to neck with IE and finally beats it Last edited by ShAdOwCoN; 09-11-08 at 12:04 AM. | Platinum Member | I never said IE (6 or 7) is the best browser. I said that it is so way ahead of competition (for whatever reasons) that it will be difficult to catch up for others. I really doubt whether FF will beat it. FF has been better browser for last so many years but IE still controls the arena (again for whatever reasons).

Rep Power: 2 | actually its very difficult to comment on this because firefox and opera and for that case even safari have their own pros n cons....but then cant say....even google chrome is fine...but its too early to comment anything on that Quote:

Rep Power: 2 | I use FF3. There are many reasons to it.
However I'm impressed with Opera too, mainly due to its unique hard-to-beat features. At the same time, looking forward to Chrome's stable/future-rich release. ~ Pothi. |

1# Speed You can setup FireFox to be even faster than opera by following a Firefox speed up tutorial: Speed up Firefox 2# Speed Dial Use this addon to get speed dial feature: Speed Dial 3# Widgets You can install Google toolbar to get most of the widgets in Opera: Google Tool Bar 4# Wand For the Magic Wand feature use this addon: Secure Login 5# Notes To store Notes use this addon: Net Notes 6# BitTorrent BitTorrent feature of Opera is useless and have lot of bugs. But you can get the same feature using : Fox Torrent 7# Display modes For changing display modes use: Default Zoom Level 8# Quick Preference You can also get Quick preference menu using: Quick Preference Button 9# Mouse Gestures For getting mouse gesture feature use: Mouse Gesture Redox 10# Session saving Session saving feature is also available in FF using: Session Manager You have to download lot of addons to get each of Opera's built in features. But the addons are much better than the built ins. Besides Opera don't support many websites. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Archer; 09-20-08 at 01:47 AM. | |

Rep Power: 2 | Hi Vishnu, Thank you for your time searching equivalents. I've been using FF3 happily without any of the add-ons mentioned except an add-on for mouse gestures (I use FireGestures) for it. I use other add-ons for other purposes, though. Still I use Opera occasionally mainly for an add-on (Ravi Shankar's Quotes) which is not available for FF. I do use Opera to test my own web development work. Thanks and regards, Pothi. |
