This is most probably a broken connection... or u let the account idle for long. normally i get this message in these cases.

What do you mean by 'Broken Connection' ? What should I do to fix this ?

The broken connection can be either from ur end or from google end. Generally the google server sometimes disconnects after certain time of inactivity. Its not a serious problem.

How many times do u receive this message and at what time (i.e what r u doing in the client the moment it displays the messages)?

I got this error the first time I connected this software to Gmail. And I messed with every setting to but still no good. I am getting this error every time I connect.

Are you using imap or pop on the account??

Have you enabled imap or pop on ur gmail id?

Try doing what is said on this page what do i do - POP and IMAP | Google Groups

I am using IMAP. I have enabled IMAP on Gmail settings. I am getting a message that says Connected. Like this:

After that I get this error message

I tried connecting many times, but not working.

Yeah, I checked it. But still no good. I decided to give Firefox a try and set up everything. And this is what I got when I connected.

vishnu89 Its not a problem with the client... You are telling me u have chacked up the settings many times.... so i just can't think of anything now. i had configured the accounts (4 of them) long time back and each works like a charm... backed up the accounts and now i don't have to configure them again n again after each format.

Maybe its a problem with the server side which wud resolve itself soon?...
