Rep Power: 10 | Last year same time India lost the test against the Aussies @ SCG. Many things went against India in that test match. Many wrong umpiring decisions. & who can forget the dismissal of Sourav Dada. He was caught in the slips (Clarke) of Brett Lee.Replays showed that the catch was not cleanly taken. But Ponting raised his finger saying that it was cleanly taken & Dada was given out. Well,well....The same thing happened today. The same ground, the same Ponting. But the opponent was South Africa & the batsman was Kallis. Kallis was caught & bowled by McDonald. Replays showed that the ball touched the ground.Once again Ponting did the same thing...He raised his finger saying..."Its out"..."The catch was cleanly taken".Once again the umpires agreed with Ponting & gave Kallis out. This guys Ponting has no sportsmanship...Salla...he is Cheat no. 1. But this test match would be remembered for Graeme Smith... ![]() South Africa were 9 down.Smith did not bat,as he was injured with a broken hand.Everyone thought the Aussies have won match.Graeme Smith did not intend to bat but he came out despite a broken hand and an injured elbow. He got a great ovation from the Sydney crowd. There were still 12 overs to be bowled.Smith batted with a broken hand.He & Ntini survived 10 overs. On the first ball of 11th over Smith was dismissed by Johnson.Match over, Aussies won the match. I salute Smith..... ![]() Two extremes of Sportsmanship... |

Rep Power: 2 | I too salute him. why ICC is not taking action against Pointing. I have seen him in a lot of controversy but no body is dare to take action against his rudeness. he always be wild and spoil the sport mood. |

Even after seeing so many replays and clearly (not exactly clear, but still....) the ball being grounded, how come the umpire make a mistake...bull**** | |

| Platinum Member | The catch was controversial all right. But since it was referred to the third umpire and he ruled OUT, Ponting cannot be blamed. Some may feel that Ponting and team should not have claimed the (dubious) catch but when was Ponting known to play the game in the spirit of the game anyway?

| After loosing the last test against aussies, SA are still at no.2 in ICC test ranking. means they have to wait for some more time to become no. 1, given, india dont run faster and wins the race |

| Platinum Member | It is not possible for India to catch up right now because in 2009, India will be playing only 5 test matches. Part of the problem lies with India's cancellation of the Pak tour. But the main problem is BCCI does not schedule too many test matches on tour. Against England we played only two. The NZ tour for example has only 2 test matches. Now BCCI is trying for a third one. BCCI gets more money out of ODIs because of sale of TV rights. |
