India's ODI Tour of Sri Lanka - Jan 28 to Feb 10, 2009

India are scheduled to arrive in Colombo on January 26, playing five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international.

India begin their tour on January 28 with the first of two ODIs in Dambulla - the second will be held on January 30 - before the series returns to Colombo. The third and fourth ODIs will be at the Premadasa Stadium on February 2 and 5, followed by the final game at the SSC on February 8. India wrap up their tour with a Twenty20 international at the Premadasa on February 10.

Apart from the fifth ODI, all games will be played under lights.

India toured Sri Lanka in July-August of 2008, losing the Tests 2-1 and winning the ODIs 3-2.

India's itinerary

• January 28 - 1st ODI at Dambulla (d/n)
• January 30 - 2nd ODI at Dambulla (d/n)
• February 2 - 3rd ODI at R Premadasa Stadium (d/n)
• February 5 - 4th ODI at R Premadasa Stadium (d/n)
• February 8 - 5th ODI at SSC
• February 10 - Twenty20 at R Premadasa Stadium (d/n)

The Indian squad for the short tour of Sri Lanka starting later this month would be picked in Mumbai on January 18, according to BCCI.

I said because quite a few countries have expressed reservations about touring Sri Lanka.
And I was surprised that even the issue never came up, as if every thing was normal there.

Well, Teams from the sub-continents never raise such an issue... India not going to Pakistan was a government's diplomatic decision... not BCCI's...

Poor Sachin was wrongly given out by Umpire(Dharmsena- who hanged his boots just couple of yrs back!)...

But cricket is a great leveller as Gambhir was given not out by 3rd umpire due to benefit of the doubt... It appeared to me that catch was taken cleanly... He was dropped on two occassions too... One of them was a lollypop!

India has lot two wickets in quick succession... Score is 144-3 in 29 overs.. Yuvi & Dhoni are on the crease...

Serious Tentions, iNdia requires 10 on 18 balls with Dhoni and rohit sharma on crease.

India will climb to 2nd then I think.SA has already demolished Australia.
