Pakistan can not host Cricket World Cup in 2011

Breaking News:

ICC has ruled out Pakistan from hosting the cricket world cup in 2011 due to security concerns. Additionaly no International matches will be played on Pakistani soil till 2011. Thats bad news for cricket fans. Whole south-asia is boiling. What will happen if terrorists strike India down the road to world cup? India must increase its internal security. It shouldn't suffer due to its neighbour!

Bad news for all cricket fans as now Ind Vs Pak matches will be very less (i dont know if they will ever play til 2011) so there will be no thrilling entertainment

Good news for all the cricket fans & players, relatives too as there is no match to take place in Pak so there will be not much of life risk

Yes as said by maddy Ind should also increase its security, they should actually provide good security rather than just showing security on papers...

May be Pakistan will be pieces very soon. Baluchis are trying to be a nation for a very long time. So is North West Frontier Province. Their society is Punjabi dominant. Good for India, the very basic of Pakistan's existence is anti - India sentiment. It is impossible to get rid of that. Like Bangladesh, only possibility is that we can develop a pro India section if they collapse as a nation.

As China grow stronger, if there is conflict, India won't be able to manage North - East & North - West simultaneously. Even if US try to prevent the collapse of Pakistan, it is going to happen today or tomorrow.


Because other than anti - India sentiment, they do not have anything in common. Not even religion. They are always like that. Divided as Pasthun, Sunni, Shiya and other sub divisions of religion & tribes. Like older days, most parts of Pakistan are still ruled as villages. Caste and tribe system is much worse than that in India.

When Pakistan was formed the need for anti - India sentiment was on a high. Now a days it is not strong enough to hold them together. Soon we can see Islamic Republic of Baluchistan. They were expecting us to be split into pieces. That is where Nehru & Indira Gandhi scored. They were successful in building a nation that got independence as a large no of states. And successfully sustained national sentiment. That is why Prasar Bharati is so particular in telecasting Cricket matches. When a match is broadcast every Indian prays for our team and it evokes national sentiment (its a fact even if they may not agree in public).

You are right in many ways but I feel that a bunch of crazy people should not be made to hold a game to ransom (cricket or whatever).

Even before the attack, several countries expressed reservations in going to Pakistan citing security reasons. Now that Pakistan is out of the equations, they will target India. Already the rest of the cricket world (read AU, ENG and to some extent NZ, SA and WI) are jealous of India's money power. Nothing will please them more to isolate India.

Sooner or later, the security concern will then be focused on India. And countries will stop touring India and/or demand neutral venues. What will happen then?

An unstable nation run by bunch of crazy fanatics is not a good neighbour. Though some people would rejoice on an enemy being broken, indeed, it is disastrous in the long run. Even if an enemy, a nation run by sound people is preferable. Hence it is necessary that Pakistan returns to normalcy.

Seriously... As a cricket fan and being indian i want peace back in pakistan, Whatever happening in pakistan does make differences in INDIA also.. That's good point that after deciding no match in pakistan the antisocial elements tries to spread chaos in india also the rest of the world (Aus, Eng and other boards) will make money by forcing india to choos neutral venues(as J4k said...)

Sorry i read this thread very late.

But what you say is like choosing IPL over General Elections. We all love cricket and what you say is absolutely true. But we cannot exist without enemies. It is Pakistan that is spreading this kind of thoughts. That if Pakistan went into the hand of fanatics, world will end. They spread this because fearing this awful situation, west will back the current government and feed them with more military power. Means more advanced weapons at discount rate or free. Inflation in Pakistan is only inferior to that in Zimbabwe. They want West to pump money into their economy so that the government can avoid a failure of economy or a riot.

Nothing will happen if Pakistan fails to exists. No need to worry about nuclear weapons. West might have already cared about that. When they feel a collapse, they will allow freedom to provinces and a small government controlled area will secure the deadly weapons. It is like allowing Sharieat in swat. Let one entity exist like Russia after USSR. That is going to happen. Others will be free states.

India has a good idea of how to eliminate threat points in Pakistan. Indians are better aware of the situation than US and NATO in Afghanistan. And have a good intelligence network in that area which was developed since Independence. We know where to strike, but since Pak is a very strong ally of US, we were not allowed to move a muscle. We need not interfere militarily everywhere. India is secretly supporting Baluchis for a very long period. And reports say they have oil deposits and other natural resources.

India is too strong to be avoided in cricket power pyramid. With the rate Indian team is performing we can make the decisions. White teams always hate asians and will try to defame us on every point.

It is true that we may have trouble for some 10 years or so. But for a country, it is very small price to secure a frontier of its boundary.
