i wonder y.. still theme is not even little bit changed by admin or mod... i mean ateast some nice attractive colors would do it.. better than this blue thing..

J4K i have a suggestion cum doubt, cant the rules to rep some one change ? because nobody here seems to have a clear idea about rep rules and there are many people here who deserve rep's for the thing they post but cant rep them at that time and later we forget it, so any changes in the rep system possible ?

^^ the thing is that every user has to rep a minimum no of different persons before he can rep the same person again.

This setting is controlled by admin via vbulletin. Unfortunately for our forum, each and every forum upgrade messes something or other, usually in the form of setting all values to their defaults.

So in this case it means that each user will have to rep several unique users b4 giving reps to the same person.

Ya i know this much but how many members we have to rep ? that we dont know and cant that be reduced to a 3 or 4 because just roughly only 15 members are regular and post such things where we require to give rep's but unfortunately now i am in such a position where i cant rep anybody not even Admin, J4K, Smoothie. now forcibly i have to go to some old thread and rep some useless posts. So what i want is, can this problem be solved ? let the Admin only come and solve it but if we decide and discuss the +ve & -ve points it will be easy for Admin to do it.

it has been discussed so many times. as with many other issues, admin hardly has time to address the issue or he forgets them.

if I remember right, last time he said that 10 was the absolute minimum (unless dhanno can find another mod for this) present in the software, but i have a feeling it has beeen set it to its default value...

another issue with giving rep's to some old posts is that we cant give to many a single day itself and give the actual person rep. After certain rep's we cant rep anybody in next 24 hrs. So its a bit complicated at the moment, lets see if we can find a solution to it.

I wanted to share this view with J4K but he never even saw this post and my doubts already got cleared

I think the number is 10. You have to rep 10 other members before repping someone again.

I think this rule is very good.

If there is no such restriction and it is possible to rep the same member again and again. Two very -ve aspect of Repo system can happen:

1) What if any two members decide among themselves that they will keep exchanging repos repeatedly?

2) Dont forget the -ve reputations also. Any member can target a particular member in that case and give him repeated -ve reputations making his reputation points go to -ve(less than zero).

Whenever you try to rep someone and are not able to do so, you can always rep me to spread some.

BTW: NPU has been really very KANJOOS in giving reps.

it can be enabled only for active users.

In anycase mods/admin have full control over each user's rep points as well as who repped them.

The risk associated with both the points i mentioned is more relevant in case of active users. Inactive users wont know much about these things. I dont know for sure, but i dont think even admin, mods can revert reps given to someone by some other member.

P.s- dont take me wrongly here. I dont mean that someone of us (the most regular users) will do such tricks.
