Default A Plea to All Memebers.

    Hi All,

I dont know how many of you are going to take it seriously or how many times will you be able to do it. The point is not whether you agree with me or no , the point is i want to say someth ing that can help the human race, our generations.

i just want to propose something . its quite possible that some of you already do.These are small things that really would take a second of your attention just a little consciousness but will help several poor and add to the energy resource of the country and infact the world.

May i please request my fellow members to please:

Switch off lights when leaving school, college, office avoid using light in daylight.

Try carpool whenever possible, turn off your engines at red lights.

Use as little plastic you can use , try carrying cloth bags whenever possible.

turn off taps while you are still brushing, preserve water.

    throw garbage in garbage bins.

Please waste as little food as possible at parties get togethers instead of throwing please distribute to some needy.Cook/serve only as much as you can consume.

I know these are basics. But it thought if this reminder could just save some little resources. no matter how little. Lets just do whatever we can to make world a better place to live. no contribution is a little contribution , no positive change too petty.

    Excellent post crave...

Its a shame we never follow some of these basic rules... And hence, not really conserving the energy...

I m not exactly a caring or patriotic person, but even I try to save water and energy as much as possible. Because I know how my day would turn if there was no water in the line or no juice to run my gadgets.
    Good Thread.

@ all- am not claiming to be a patriotic or a caring person. as i said in another thread i dnt to what s the fuss about nation that we humans have created around us . we awere born humans lets just remain that.(if possible that is) i just feel it is our responsibility to judiciously use the resources that we sometimes take for granted. thanks all for understanding.

i am happy that people on the forum are taking it in the right spirit.

I will turn of the light of my room before sleeping tonight... Normally I don't really care about it...

How r u gonna manage a house with only solar energy in winters? Perhaps you may think about alternative lighting at home too...

icrave you already know na i do all this

I don't use any light in day time and try to keep all light off when don't have any good use, don't have any fancy lamp in my room just got one tube light thats it :sneaky2:

I carry a side bag always so that can put in all small stuff in it, in fact sometimes i carry fruits and milk pack in it

I don't through any plastic tea cup, empty packs or anything on roads. If i don't find a dustbin then keep it in car and can through it in dustbin at home or any cafe
Its strange but i swear sometime i carry my empty tea cups inside my office and through them in office ka dustbin

I don't use tap while brushing teeth, i always take water in mug to while brushing teeth :tooth:

There are lot many other things which we can do to teach same habbits to others, just give me few mins more will update here

See the solar energy setup is not going to be a small one and it will be enough to run airconditioning in summers and still have more then 24 hours backup stored in battries with aircons running full blast 24/7 and in winters the electricity consumption will come down by more then 75% and the battries once fully charged will last for more then a week may be more depending on how many people are in the house.

Hot water and house heating will come from bio gas not solar so it will never be a problem

This house will have good insulation and will require a lot less energy to heat up in winters and cool in summers as opposed to conventional brick houses we have in India I will get all the walls, floor and roofs heat insulated to get best results and reduce energy costs in the long run.

PS: this is still a dream and might take another 5 years to materialise

alright would like to share something here, One day i went out for tea (at chaai wala)with one of my co-worker after having his tea he dropped his plastic cup on road when i asked him not to do this, his reply was 'thats ok'
at the same time without saying or telling him anything i picked up the plastic cup from road and took it with me... dropped it in waste bin... with a smile on face

as i remember it was the last day when i saw him spreading waste anywhere, after that day i never found him throwing anything anywhere on road. at least he don't try to do this when i am around

I use a better psu :P. Better psu are more energy efficient. I switch off my tv from mains for starters. Then again I dont use tv much. pc is rarely switched off but I keep the system on standby and switch off the lcd, speakers and LED lights on my keyboard. For casual use I revert my pc settings on default clocks. I hate plastic bags-not for environmental purposes though. I just use the school bag which for my daily use.

Yes I was in school a long time ago. Planning to join a B-school. We have lot of lan parties and leech sessions to exchange torrent downloads, so nothing protects hard drives, keyboards and mouse other than some good bubble wrap and carrying them in a school bag. I am either most of the time out or at work so carry most of the stuff in the bag-psp, management books, office papers, hard drives, random stuff, etc. My old school bag can even equip a dslr camera if I buy one in the future.
