Thread: Making IndiaBroadband.net Bigger

I am spending a lot of money on marketing these days as some of you who are webmasters yourself must have noticed.
Our traffic is increasing every week as you can see from the alexa graph




We are adding more then 100 new members every day ... its a different story that only about .5% of them would ever make their first post here but thats how forums are.

People in India are still not familiar with forums as its only been 3-4 years since forums really started picking up.

The t-shirt idea is good but it does not yield the kind of results we would need to get a push on the net.

We can still get t-shirts printed to be sent over for regular members in the near future ( may be within the next two months)

Give it another 2-3 weeks and see how that traffic graph goes up

wow.. the graph is on rise since the time I joined...

But I think Admin need to market it to keep the momentum strong...

I agree with maddy, maybe we need more marketing.

Also maybe its due to holiday season , we could expect more traffic after the new yr.

As such the page views have increased over last 3 months by 20% which is great. I expect it will increase after the new year holidays.

already SEO campaigning is on with full Boom which will make indiabroadband.net a big place in few days, trust me friends we all are part a great forum which is going to be the best one very soon

I meant advertisements(on other sites as well as print media)! SEO score of forum is already quite good...

Good idea, because every popular brand or company or website in this case has a logo, and it becomes a trademark and like you said make the forum more professional and recognizable!

But one thing i want to ask people, if there would be t shirts would anyone wear them, or this just something which will sit in cupboards?

I don't have a problem... During my promotion days for Marlboro, I used to wear their T-shirts... And they were really kool & of good quality...

This's the actual reason why i proposed that, we have a contest to design a logo,graphics and slogan etc.

All the participants's material will be available here , using which, anybody IF willing can print out their T-Shirts with the design they liked the most.

However I dunno how many people will be willing to spend for it... but I am sure it would be way too costly for Admin to do it alone.

I was expecting a response from admin too.

i dont think it would be a good idea for members to get their own t shirts, i think they should be either given in the contest or members who reach a certain number of posts!

If ur talking about shirts being given for free by admin , then what u say is correct.

But IF some member wants to use the design on their T-shirt ( @ their own cost) why not ? Isn't it free publicity ?

yeh if someone wants to do it on their own wish, thats fine and their own choice!

and again the option of giving them out in regards to contests or posters should be with that too!

does anyone know anyone who works for a newspaper or magazine, that would help a lot!

have an article mentioned on India Broadband, thats why!

we have a lot of new member, and most of which have their very own blogs, sites, so why dont these new members put a link to IndiaBroadband.net from their site, seeing that they have their links!

The contest is a good start to getting more forum activity.
I would certainly tell my friends about this site.

I could see a big change in this forum after the contest has begun....So many new posts....My head rolls when I go to the new post section...I dunno from where to start...

Sorry I do not agree with you... this contest was the worst idea ever and I have learnt my lessons now

Its probbably a result of by passing the democratic decision making we have been following all these years and one stupid decision and this forum is full of spam... :38:

Dont worry I will clean up this mess with a few clicks once the winner is announced after a month All we would need to do is deleted all the posts made by certain members it wont be that difficult atleast as the number of members spamming this place is ver few thankfully

same here Ramesh, i don't know where to start and what to read when i visit, there is always so much to catch up on!

i think the contest was an ok idea, apart from the brainless people who ruin things by spamming, but like you said Admin it can all be deleted after the contest is over!

Compared to last 2 days,there's not been much spamming today...where are the stat leaders...

ye today we are not getting much spam but after one month need atleast 1 complete day to delete spam and to clean all the threads :sad:

I'm also fed-up of digging up genuine posts to reply... :sad: Pretty hard to find..eh..

If you find any more new nonsense posts please report it using the report button and I will delete it and ban the user for 2-3 days... This should serve the purpose.

Sorry about th mess guys I had never anticepated even in my repotest dreams that this wave of spam will hit our board the moment we announce this contest.

No more spam here.... Its going to be extremely strict from now on so wont have to wait 30 days... spamming days are over.


Just report any posts you may find annoying and it will be taken care of accordingly.
