Thread: New games section

I would like your suggestions on what should be the name of the gaming sections and what would be its subsections if you want them.

And also where exactly do you want it to be.

My view:
it may be an entire new section like "Computers","Daily dose of technology" having some parts like "PC games", "Xbox games", "Playstation games","others" etc. The pc part might include an "Announcement" on what to keep in mind while building a gaming pc and such stuff. the rest is upto the popularity it achieves. with timely reviews of games and info on problems and related patches it may be quite an exciting place.

gaming section is a good idea, and yes having a new sub section for games is a good idea!

Although i don't know much about what categories to have in that section but like Leo mentioned have a sections like Playstation games, XBox games, Wii g, computer games and so on!

I have added a seperate gaming sections.

Please shout now if you want changes in the names of sections or want anything added in there

I think only 3 sub-forums is required.

We can have categories Genre-wise too... For ex.-

• Adventure
• Action-Adventure
• Construction and management simulation
• Life Simulation
• Role Playing
• Strategy
• Vehicle Simulation
• Sports

No. I do not agree. There are too many sub-sections already. So many sections will clutter up the main (home) page.

exactly, but i like archie's idea. that pretty much sums everything up.

new section seems good, but should there an extra section of online games and puzzles or not?

lets make this one hotter right now, then we will think about next step.

Admin Archer's idea is better .

imo Sub sections i would like to suggest

-->Console games
-->PC games
-->Mobile games
-->General

Console Games
-->Because there are so many like Xbox , Xbox360 , Playstation 1 , Playstation 2 , Playstation 3 , Wii .... And they may release new ones anytime
So we should just turn this into a console games subsection

Mobile games
-->What about mobile games ? Games in mobile phones are hot in India .... Also no place to put sony's Play station Portable's [psp] games and Nintendo's gameboy , Gameboy advanced etc etc

PC Games
-->Puzzle games , flash games and all other PC based games should come under PC games i fancy

General discussions [related to gaming]
-->We should also have a General subsection to discuss General gaming discussions like PC hardware[Especially graphics] , World Cyber games championship [WCG] , Gaming tournaments , clans, upcoming consoles , DirectX etc etc

Would nt it be better if it was classified as
-->First Person shooters [fps] - Counter strike , Crysis
-->Third person shooters [tps] - GTA series,Mafia
-->Racing - NFS , Race Driver grid
-->RTS [Real Time Strategy] - Age of Empires , Company of heroes , DOTA
-->RPG[Role playing games] - World of Warcraft [WOW] , Final Fantasy series
-->TPS [Turn based strategy] - Disciples series , sid Meyer's Pirates

But like j4k said it ll be too long a sub section ... so i feel the idea i suggested in the previous post is better

its already being made. and we dont know yet how much popularity we are gonna get in that section. so, its better to go with the present model now rather than having many subsections without a single post.

Check my preious section it has only 4 sub sections ... its much more ordered ... and a lot of our threads can be moved to that sub section after that

Yeah... this is best solution if we don't want too many sections on home-page... We can then further divide those sections according to genres suggested and make them appear only in those sections... not on home page!

Yeah if we can have a drop down list, it will be okay but not on the homepage please.
