Can some one please explain to me how are you guys able to post another reply/post within 30 secs? I normally have intervals of 5-10 mins before I can gather enough courage to spam again

I opened 2 threads and tried to post replay one after the other. That's when I got this message.

No one should get that resctriction message any more as its now set to a bare minimum as we cant take it off all together because in case of an attack our server doesnt crash and still has some breathing space

Attack as in attack from you guys... posting 500 posts per second :lol:

i was going through the BSNL broadband threads where i found some more friends asking for help in plan change problem...

the problem is that they make new threads again and again and which creates multiple identical threads resulting in mass confusion...sometimes it creates a feeling that my post was deleted( sometime back kixi told me how my post was actually in another identical thread relating to same topic- eventually he deleted)

so this creates a spam ofcource,. with many people goin through the bsnl section one cant tell with which thread his post was he replying to..

i think mods must limit this..
people think that starting a new thread gives more attraction to readers while this is actually annoying, moreover if someone replies to an older thread, his message appears..
please make a thread on this and show the newbees some proof so they dont make multiple threads on same issue..

if its possible please implement this...
i know it needs more alteration in forum scripts so better ask the mods first, and other seniors too, on this issue...

May be we can have sticky thread of all bsnl problems & solutions..

i really appreciate your idea but we already got lot many guides for BSNL users as sticky post in Broadband How to section

Broadband How to is already covering all main issues, if someone knows how to use a guide or if he/she is not facing any exceptional problem then i really don't think there is a need of creating a new thread but as people come here to get fast resolution so they create there own thread and we really don't have any problems with this.

Still if you have any more suggestions for Admin/ Mod's then please shout

why dont we have a new feature in IBB .... i ll explain with an example....

Lets say a guy needs help with something or has a doubt ...he posts it in the tech section ..... after some discussions/arguments the doubt is cleared and the problem is solved ....
In order to avoid spamming we can include a feature whereby the thread starter has the ability to mark the thread as solved .... I have seen it used in other vbb forums

After that mods can go around locking those threads or it may lock itself automatically when its marked as solved .....

The option is found under thread tools .... only the thread starter can mark the thread as solved



this can ensure that solved threads are nt available for spamming sessions

suggestions:

1) make it possible for users to see the the usernames besides the recieved reputations ... there is no way that one can know from whom he/she recieved the reps...

2) sub-forums specifically for major indian it companies like infosys,tcs,wipro etc .. under it & tech discussions - i think this will really attract many users to this site ...

3) i am not talking of adding more moderators but if a few members can be given some mini-moderator like privileges for specific sections in which he or she contributes the most/or is an expert it can really make the site more neat and clean and also lessen the burden of mods and admin

4) sub-forums under laptops like lenovo,dell,sony etc... will also be a very good idea...

I have been facing quiet a few problems recently

1. Whenever i use the edit button to edit a post i have already posted i get a "Do you want to Save the post? " pop up ...... So i have to close it and try again until i get to the edit message window

2. When i use the i-spy feature in Linux Ubuntu the page does not update after a post ... I have to manually update it

Have any one of you faced these problems ?

No I didn't experience any of the above two problems. But, there is still some problem with 'Edit', that one which many here had had earlier. Its now back. The edit box remains there after applying the change.

i have also been facing problem 1

So basically edit button is problematic to many i guess

Same problem. The Edit Box is not disappearing after clicking Save button. And I have to refresh the page to get rid of it. No problem in editing the post.
