Whisper : i am ready... ! dont tell smoothie bhai...
Dont we already have a gaming section though!
Its true that we should stick to the topic and not go offtopic and talk about other things apart from what the thread is based on.
he means a sub section for these kind of games
oh ok!
wait wait Manish, i still dont get it, cause in the gaming section we already have something with pc games, console games and all!!!!!!!!
but this is online text game kind of thing, which can not fall in any of those categories
most of these games are like intractive offtopic threads
Personally, I do not like people spending so much time on computer games. I am the last advocator of "all work, no play", but stick to outdoor games. So I am voting for the "Yard".
And yes, yard is the trash can of the forum.

Of course, here I am.
I am sorry if my opinion sounds harsh. But I do have a decidely singular opinion on this topic. I am not saying people should stop playing games but I see people addicted to them and that's bad (if not terrible).
And it will require some positive sinister dexterity to change my stance.

Who said that?
I also don't like much going around sometimes posting for no use, and I have really repented lots of times for being like that, and by the way, it's a common thing that goes on with most of the youth. But, I believe that it is better atleast to understand that one's own future may be at stake due to this.
Actually you are the ones who could spend time on it, as people who are working will not be much affected by it as a student would be. But, ofcourse every man in this world is always a student.
But, there are still some good points behind everything, but it might be mostly less valuable for a student as far as his future in the present situations in the world is concerned.
IT IS! There I said it. I also said "It is a great way to make friends and make n00bs feel at ease." And I believe that 100%
If you really want to reduce spam than ban the "single smiley", "thanks, that was great", "lol" and "rofl" posts from other off-topic sections. If you want to spam than visit the forum games section. If you want serious discussion than the rest of the forum is for you explore.

No, I didn't take your comments as arguments.
But you see, all users are not tech geeks. Not everyone can answer how you can solve Broadband or router problems. If a user participates in a useful discussion once in a while that's ok IMHO.
Some people are good at socialising and some just like playing interactive forum games.
If you contribute to the community in any positive way you can it can't be bad, can it?
It may not be. But, it won't help you when you are a student or a trainee or anyone on such a position from which they should be actually spending their free time for learning more with the extra time you get. It wouldn't matter much after you are settled and are leading a good life, and actually everyone can do that. Age is not a barrier.![]()
And, I believe that our some experienced users of Life here would surely approve it.
And I believe that this concept that one can't do it (something) after this age, is not so ideal, and Prasannaji has really shown good character and mind by trying to remind everyone indirectly.
What i believe is , to stop spamming then the members only should understand what to comment and where to comment thats all... you put as many rules as you want but the end is the same... "Every law has a loop hole, except itself"
@dhaneshv: People come to this place becuase they choose to come here. Nobody is forcing them to come to this forum. Not everyone likes to study 24-7. This place could be a nice place to let off some steam and relax for some and a place to learn new tips and tricks about networking for others. You can't generalise and say how people/students should spend the time.
What I am trying to say here is that, this place should offer all kind of avenues to all kind of people whether they are students, professionals, geeks, or just casual visitors.
We already have a real world out there where people have all kinds of exceptions from you, but please don't turn this place into a boring boring real world.
Let this be an escapist paradise and let others enjoy.
Hold on. I have nothing against casual chit-chat (aka spamming). My comment was on gaming discussions (which I find waste of ...).
Not all are geeks and nerds and one has to respect/accept that. There are good things in many (well, there are a$$holes, as I just experienced and mentioned in another thread). Everyone has a specialty but I will dissuade anyone to build their capability in playing games. Designing games/animation - definitely.
Claim to have become an expert gamer? A waste of time unless, in my opinion, unless you can make a career out of it. And I talked to a few blokes at Electronic Arts and Activision. They assured me that it was not fun and glamour but very hard work. For example, they said, it is no fun repeating the same game play hour after hour, on different platforms, just to find out flaws and bugs.
^ Very judgemental point of view, I must say.
I think this discussion is more about interactive forum games than platform games aka PC or playstation.
However: Why does everything have to be hardcore? Why do you have to design games to enjoy them. Why can't one be casual and enjoy interactive games once in a while. I have been playing games on PC for nearly 20 years and I have always been a casual gamer. I was always interested in how games are made. But that too at a very general and beginner level, only to satisfy my basic curiosity nothing more nothing less.
No harm in casual gaming. I am not against gaming. I am worried about that becoming an obsession and 90% of the time, it does lead to that.
p/s. I used to play Simcity and became an addict and then one day, I simply said "ENOUGH" and deleted the game.
And here is something:Games you own/play

I agree j4k, People should go out and play outdoor games
and get fresh air and exercise instead of playing video games
hours on end.
