Thread: Badges Suggestion-Member Of The Week

I was just struck by this idea, while we were having a discussion in the thread "Your Repo Counts". It's not so that the idea just struck me. I had this in mind sometime back. But, forgot all about it, and went on. And, I do understand that many here might have also had such an idea.So, let me come into the idea without stretching myself out.

Why don't we have special badges or special positions for some special members of our forum. I mean that we can have special badges like "Member Of The Week" or things similar to that which would credit to the user for their recent dedications or good doings to IBB.

This will not only be an honour to our users, but will also be an inspiration for everybody to do more for the forum. Like ""Best Member Of The Week" (or any other good suggestion), we could also have other badges on which we can decide about.

I really think that this would give a boost to the forums' spirit. Please think and give your opinion, and then we can finally take a decision.

Thanks bro!

I meant that it will be us, the users who shall be choosing the Member OF The Week, based on his/her performance in the week. Or, our dear mods or Admin can just chose one. And thus quality will increase.

We can surely start the poll and go on..but, we need our Admin or mods to give the chosen member the badge, because only they will be able to bring it under our Username.

many of the members are absent on weekends, so maybe it can be started from wednesday or sth

As I have already mentioned about an add-on for IBB relating to this, the user will get a badge under his/her username.

And, it is upto Admin to decide whether anything more should be given?

By the way, lots of the big forums gain from this because it feels great for most to be the best (at-least for one week).
