Angry Anti-Fair Usage Policy petition

With many ISPs adopting FUP , the already bad internet scenario in India is set to get worse ..... Dont we already have frequent disconnections(wired) , crappy speeds and crappier customercare reps to worry about .... than to saddle us with a dll limit cap ???

I think we should petition (courtesy IBF members ) TRAI to put a stop to these mal practices followed by these ISPs

Charging for unlimited download and capping the ddl limit/speed is day light robbery

I also heard rumors that ISPs may start monitoring Internet traffic of users China style ..... They should not be allowed to abuse their authority and control how users use the internet .....

I would like your suggestions regarding this issue ...

should we start a signature collection petition ? We do have a lot of internet users logging in ?

That's a really good idea. But, if I'm right, TRAI has already started taking actions against these unfair policies of ISPs.

Wait, I will just search now and update with the link.

Got it: Trai moves to ensure broadband speed

isp s dont seem to have changed their caps ??

Update --some of the isps removed it for their 256kbps connections only .... because 256kbps is not BB according to TRAI guidelines .... and they would have been in a lot of trouble if they had capped it

According to TRAI capping BB speeds/dll limit is not illegal !

Yes. Got it now.

Anyway, count me in.
And, let's hope that we can bring about some change.

A change that we can believe in.

No doubt in that also your idea is good we all need to protest. They are violating their own plan bandwidth.
It is unfair usage policy.

But one think i just want to add that this type of thing is not new in case of BSNL for limited user one traditional rule is present for night unlimited facility disconnect the broadband 1.58 AM and connect it again at 2:02 AM, otherwise if anyone continuously login from something like 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM then all the data can be charge even in night unlimited time.So many month has been past BSNL could not able to make perfect their server. Is not unfair with customer ? because such type of condition (disconnection & reconnection) is not present in any BSNL notice or BB form terms & condition.

I don't think BSNL is seriously thinking about this matter also because after all this type of programming error is giving much opportunity to charge extra usage to the new user. After all sufferer is customer and BSNL is getting benefit from that so why they will take step about this matter.

BSNL maybe a big "communications" Co. but doubt if there's proper "communication" between their customer care, admn, and techies
