Thread: Best answer/ Helpful tags

Since we are planning for contests, can we think of some better methods for rating a thread.

Currently we have thread rating and reps. Even regulars think hard to remember when the rated a thread. As for reps, regulars are using this facility, but new users have no idea about a small icon placed in a quiet place.

Please give your opinion on options for " Best answer " or " Helpful answer "
along with " Not useful " button.

Unless we provide an attractive button, these facilities will be hard to implement. There are many users who simply answer the question and new comers fell prey to the mistakes in the post. If they can identify the best answer, I think many will find this useful.

well.. even i was thinking about this.. becoz when i joined earlier i was also not knwing and like repos and all.. for ppl it shoud be easy to understand n use.. i think the idea which u told will be better.. in google labs.. i have seen such options.. sayint was this article helpful or not? etc... good throw mate...

I have seen this in Yahoo and Rediff Answers. They are quite useful while a new user is selecting the answer. I hope admin/mods will consider this.

I thought it will be useful and can form a consensus on this.

The second add-on which I had recommended is what you are talking about (if I am right).
