@ Admin
Could you please clarify this ?
google seems messed up by changing the date format.
I saw that for some of the search results, the links displayed and its cached version are completely different !!(considering that unless threads are moved or deleted , this shoulden't happen.)
some examples :
http://www.indiabroadband.net/relati...-issue-17.html
some fun , i guess - Page 2
http://www.indiabroadband.net/tv/111...logues-11.html (classic dialogues)
classic dialogues - Page 11
(the top link is the link in google search and the bottom one is the cached vesion)
(also note the dates r kind of similar in some cases)
63% said no, and that was nearly two years ago, and here I come now ...wondering why this is the only site I ever use that has USA daye format! And being mightily cionfused by it.
Looks like it is indiabroadband format, and we're stuck with it![]()
Thanks. Curiuous, about Google!
Google shuould understand "in India, we dont have 31 months". lol![]()
How is google getting on with the rest of the non-American world?![]()
Ask any webmaster in his right might would not do anything Google doesn't like and in this case Google doesn't like the British format so our site uses the American one.
Google sends the majority of traffic to this site and annoying/pleasing Google means decrease/increase in traffic which is directly proportional to the revenue any website creates that is monetized with adsense or similar advertising models.
america made internet, america made computer and an american russian made google.. so probably we have to stick with the american ways if we use them
OK, it's your site, and you have to do what is both easiest and best for you, and I have no argument with that, but ... you're the only one!
indiamike.com, team-bhp.com, hifivision.com, rasikas.org: all "normal" date format. I guess they are no less reliant on Google than you are? They don't have American ways! All hosted in USA, too.
I'm the newcomer around here
I guess it's a small thing. Anyway, I made the point, and I'm happy to leave it now.
It's good to have a place to come for this specific techie stuff when we need it: that's the important thing!
^^yes but ddmmyy sucks.. so i think admin must see some way to out of this..
Actually, I just took another look, (at least at IndiaMike and Team-BHP, which are the biggest forums I frequent), and realised that what I wrote was not really right.
The post dates are not displayed in DDMMYY format at all: they are displayed as, eg, Jun 17th, 2007, 20:35 . So long as the month is spelt out, there is no confusion: 4th March is as clear as March 4th and March 4th is as clear as 4th March. No confusion, like between 03-04-2010 and 04-03-2010.
Could this maybe point to an answer?
vBulletin Manual
Format For Date
Format in which the date is presented on vBulletin pages.
Examples:
US Format (e.g., 04-25-98): m-d-y
Expanded US Format (e.g., April 25th, 1998): F jS, Y
European Format (e.g., 25-04-98): d-m-y
Expanded European Format (e.g., 25th April 1998): jS F Y
Admin i think 'Expanded US Format (e.g., April 25th, 1998)' is a good option.
Indian users happy cos month spelt out & Google requirements also met.

Expanded US FORMAT PLS admin... everyone is saying for that...
I've no problem with the current format. As I got used to it while working in a company which followed the same. Call it occupational benefit. LOL
