I am not able to reply to tech. only because of yard which has become a great way of increasing post count. But we should take into count that it also bound us together into a close knitted community. I think a ratio will be good & 3 words reply will not be included in that if we count tech but in yard it will be.

You are right linux portion is in shambled. I don't post much there even though it is my 1st OS as response is low there. What we have there are some ubuntu users.

But one thing I want to add technical reply or thread is reducing due to another reason because if you look BSNL broadband section was most popular few days ago now in that section we did not get such post because every new user almost gets every type of problem solution from few earlier thread and reply.So he/she do not need to post any new thread and so reply is not present also.
Just check all the technical thread in BSNL BB all thread got enough reply.

But still I agree we are getting more interested in joke, yard, offtopic etc

Kubuntu is not the type of linux he meant. I think the greatest broadband forum of Indian republic. Must have some good linux thinkers. I am also now little interested in linux and started it from a while. I use qemu version cause i am newbee. I want more tech people in mobile section. Most mobiles in India range between 2k-10k.i want to discuss java applications for phones. I want good people. I want to discuss gprs.

Qemu is a virtualisation tool. What do you use it for? I don't know much 'bout gprs . On java I am doing a part time course ( SL-275).

Laeeq bhai is their any way to stream .amr sound in java mobile application like mp3 for internet radio.? My friend is asking this.

Every member (esp the senior members) must make a conscious effort not to post in the Yard section. Every one of us is not a techie here, but we can try our best to contribute to the tech section.

Even though I have not contributed much to the tech section, I have done my best to stay away from the Yard section.

I have been long advising (non-techie) people that they don't have to be techie to get involved in tech threads. You can simply point to the correct thread (where solution may exist) or to the correct person.

On topic please...Does this look like a linux thread??

Can we at least combine all the congrats theads...I know I have created most of the new threads....but I would not mind at all if they were all merged together...that would really clean up the introductions section.

I had given this idea before...One thread for reps achievement and one thread for post count achievement.

j4x, I would like to know if this can be done or not.

That can be done. But it will affect Google hits to the site. I will ask for Admin's permission for the same.

So far I have stuck to merge duplicate threads on tech subjects only.

Yep, and if there is a mega INDEX thread, there would hardly be any need for people to post at all....

Ok we can atleast stop creating new threads from now on? I mean you or me or someone else create 2 threads...and from this point forward we can post all the achievements there. Is that ok?

Coming back to the topic of this thread, well I too have seen too much of posting in the jokes, yard and offtopic section, and majority of the time that's all there is, and much less of tech related posting!
Before there used to be only tech related posts which i suppose is the main subject of the forum, but when there's more posting in the sections mentioned then it kind of looks weird, especially to new members too.

Its ok to have these sections, but should be kept in moderation, locking some threads may be a good idea, but if some new member wants to leave a comment then it would be an off put to them.

Some of the topics in the offtopic section are good, but some are honestly speaking a bit crap to be honest!

One way of stopping the continuous posting in the jokes section is that not to carry out conversations there, leave your comments and thats it!

I am not Laeeq. My name is Laeeq & don't start from L. If you want to ask a question write Luke. For it is my pen name. SL-275 is not related to mobile but a starter course after which you can give SCJP(sun certified Java programmer) . amrlib(3gp) is not in Java so I can't tell you anthing on that. But there might be a way with a software written by an advanced programmer. I am just a begginer. I am just 20 & not in computer fields( I am in E&C) but want to go in that.
