When you click on the link New Posts, the search returns 50 latest posts only.
Till day before, it used to return all new posts since your last visit.
Is there any way to "Undo" this effect???
or only Admin can do this.
What is the advantage of this change?
for me its showing 47
even Todays post(Quick link->Todays Post) not showing more than 49![]()

If you have viewed all posts and only 50 or less "new" posts are remaining then the search is doing its job properly.
But I know that I have not seen a lot of posts.
but Todays Post showing 49
& now last one is showing this

isnt this must have to show all todays Post![]()
Yes.
Some settings must have been disturbed.
yes. this is a major issue for all those who can not be on the forum through out the day.
It would also lead to a situation where genuine posts requesting for help would get flushed out quickly without getting a proper reply. that would have an adverse effect on the imae of the forum.
Requesting Admin to return to original system or at least increase it to 300 posts.
Yes, it was the most convienient way to go through all the unread posts.
Admin, please bring the older version back.
Sorry about the trouble guys... I have set it right now and it should show you 500 results.
Is this alright or do we need more then 500?
This is fine. Many Thanks Admin.![]()
Thanks Admin!
500 is enough
The only advantage is that churning out lesser results uses less amount of RAM and processing power making fetching from the data base faster. Our forum is mysql database driven and has beel slowing down a bit at peak times and I found out that it was not a bandwidth issue...
Our server already has 8GB of RAM and at peak times it gets used up 100% and then the hard drive isint one of the best on this box so page loading gets slower then what you would normally expect. We have got 7200rpm hard drives.. I guess adding more ram should do the trick.. will see how it goes with some changes I have done and if the board gets stable then will leave it at that or in other case try upgrading hardware.
To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 100 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
In that case I am okay if you reduce the no. from 500 to 200, will that help??
Reducing the number of results cannot be a permanent resolution ... I just changed a few things to make sure what the issue was and now we know so can act accordingly.
I see the forum is behaving normal .... does anyone experience slow page loads still?
