Your post is not visible because guest posts go into moderation and need to be manually checked before they go live.

I have done that now and you can see it now.

i think the best way is to get registered and have the credits of asking and discussing thats the proper way of forums must run.. i dont what is so important to query as a guest.. you type all the letters and at last the things are gone into moderation before going live on the internet.. and it also troubles the mods too..

but i think the best way can be of letting the non registered members/ guests to surf through the most important threads for ex the BB forums.. so that the forum may get some anonymous traffic too..

Many people like to post as anonymous.

We have allowed guests to post also.

This moderation task has increased slightly. I do delete duplicate or other such posts that carry no value.

It is really a nice facility. Anonymity is the boon on internet. There are many people who do not wish to share their email while registering. I hope they need to register to start a thread.

If unregistered guests wish to start a new thread, it also goes into mod queue.

Personally, I am not in favour of unregistered guests posting. We could start getting a lot of crap and even though it goes into mod queue, it will be a hassle.

I thought the unregistered facility is only for replies. Didn't knew they can start threads also.

I work at a local hotel, and i gave my friend a room for 1nite for free and did not put him in the system. My supervisor left me a note stating that the room was dirty on my shift? what can i tell her why the room was dirty?

^^ I understand what you are saying. I will disable guest posting as soon as I find out how to do that.

And I think it was not always allowed : http://www.indiabroadband.net/sugges...egistered.html (posting facility for unregistered)

Why was guest posting enabled atall? Anyone got any idea?

I am not aware why "Guest" posting was allowed. It was turned on roughly a month or so ago.

    To disable Guest posting:

    Login to Admin Control Panel

Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > edit the unregistered/not logged in users usergroup

    Can Post Threads: No
Can Reply to Other's Threads: No

Then go through your forums, whichever one they were posting to.

Forums & Moderators > Forum Permissions > edit the custom permissions of the forum they were posting to

    Can Post Threads: No
Can Reply to Other's Threads: No
