Contest is a good idea to generate fresh interest. For the sake of the contest, I am willing to be a moderator again.
I hope the contest keeps the (new) members active after it is over.
Do we have a tool/mod that can keep posts in certain sections not counted? This cannot be the whole "General Offtopic" as there are quite a few useful sub-sections inside this section.

hold on guys.....Aaron will come in mid jan, this contest will take at least 2-3 weeks to start....till then lets decide the rules and have a proper structure in place so that when Aaron is back, he just needs to approve it, select mods and we are good to go.

I think instead of creating new ids we can use the same ones and just have the stats counter set to show last 7 days stats so we can take the winner stats ever 7 days without having to do any calculations.
I am also in favour of retaining existing id's.

my exams are from 1st march to 22nd march.
so plz consider starting the contest in February.....and 4 weeks we will have contests.after that march is exam month so plz stop the contest from April.Then continue.

Plz support us with exams and have the contest only in FEB.
in March plz don't announce any contest as some of the members(including me) have examsand we have to concentrate study rather than contest.From April continue to have contests.
Contests will come and go. Try to concentrate on your primary objective.
