i wanted to ask one more thing,

The same people (admin/mods) will judge the entries. Judgment will be based on:
Originality of thoughts
Writing style
Spelling and Grammar
Use of humour, anecdotes, examples, etc.
Subject selection and relevance to forum

Presentation of article should also be considered while judging i think, like including pics etc details of the information.

I had an account on Associated Content sometime back where I would publish my articles. However, a week back I took all my content off their website because they had some payment related issues. Now will I be eligible for the contest if I post those articles of mine here? I can assure you those articles are nowhere on the internet now.

We are now judging the article solely on quality. If your articles are relevent than do post. This time we are not going to disqualify people - instead the article may be disqualified based on rules. Read the crieteria on judgement.

Just make sure those articles are not indexed anywhere and you own those articles.

Pretty sure they are not indexed anywhere. You do get a google result of the associated content link, but when you do click it, it shows that the user is inactive and the content has been removed.
And 100% sure they are my articles.

Yes that should be fine provided you dont plan to resubmit them to associated content or sell them to some one else

How about Google "cached" pages ?
you cannot delete them ! I get "contents"
from many defunct web sites , or where pages have been deleted.

But the topic chosen should match current interests, there is no point if i write about the 1983 world cup semifinals ...
