Thread: Unregistered guests

Sometime ago there was a thread on this. I hate to create another thread but I have a few queries:

a) Is there any advantage in allowing guest posts?
b) Can guests download guides and articles? If yes, should they be allowed to do so? Will it not be better that they are asked to register before allowing to do so?

The only advantage of allowing guest posts is that some people have a solution and going by human nature they wont register just to provide "some one else" a solution so my theory is that they just hit the reply button and leave their reply... I agree there are more drawbacks then there are pluses... will see if Aaron agrees to restrict it for members only.

Attachments can only be downloaded by registered and logged in members including pictures.

I have no real complaints accept that guest voting in polls.

Guests are not able to cast votes in polls... will check that again to make sure.

I am sure that they are able to do so. On many new polls, one can see lot many votes but very few real names.

Guests should also register before viewing a member's profile...
