I don't like the word TOP. What about the quality. i mean the real quality. Offcourse we have many ppl here who delivers quality. But ultimate aim here goes to the prize. They say "Everything is fair in war & love". we kind of get in war in such competitions. if not with the others, then with ourselves. We (u,I, everyone) try to post more & more. well not everyone cares about the quality. or sometimes ppl (delivering quality) don't care about quality. Everyone just wanna be on the top of list. i think in such competitions quality is inversely proportional to the time. It starts decaying with time. This is the reason y I hardly participate in things like this.

But then I think about the ppl running the forum. They are ok at their place. They have to run the forum. They have to grow it. So they need such things.

My only point is, atleast for member of the month don’t make it mandatory to have particular nos of posts. Stick to the quality. It will be enough if the poster is regular here & sincere.

PS: may i posts some stocks market related stuff here. based on my realistic experience. after all as human i can't ignore money.

trash quality posts will be not included and people will be banned. only articles that meet a certain standard will be passed and counted. Those articles that have really awesome value and get a great response from people (1000+ views in a week or so ?) can be up for best article prize and member of month can be chosen accordingly.

There has to be a minimum on the number of articles as there needs to be more fresh quality content generated on a regular basis. It may not be fair to reward a person who wrote 1 thread in a whole month right ? Thats y 10 is a really fair number. People can easily write 15 threads a day, that too with decent quality, hence that number seems fair.

This is just the first version of the contest. If the response is good, i am sure Aaron has no problem in rewarding more people for their efforts.

It is just a beginning and now that this contest is already on it wont be fair to change the terms.... this new contest will be there every 10 days so we will keep improving and after a couple of months will have a very good contest model as we would have fixed all the loopholes by then.

Its not just about the quantity... We have a member of the month award as well and one that would go to threads with best quality. In future we can keep discussing about it and keep improving the way wo conduct the contests

Be assured that in a few weeks time we will be rolling pretty well with hardly any complaints from any one.

By the way this current contest has got no competition atall and any one can easyily win the top spot with just a few hours of hard work.... If anyone want an idea on what to post in new threads... You could post daily news in your own words by putting in your own views and stuff.. and so on.

actually, game reviews for the nintendo DS are in hot demand. My fren had posted an article on top 10 DS games, and he struck gold, he got 7000-8000 views a day !

You guys didn't read the first post properly, the contest is regarding the Highest thread starter; the basic aim is to bring traffic to this site & I don't think that this thread got any useless thing, if this thread grows up (ofcourse with all your participation), it could bring more people to this site, who might be searching for portfolio or tips on google.

but buddy, even is someone searching about that comes to you thread via google, what will he find ? There are other market threads too. What you should have done is given that thread more content, not just some space for discussion. Hope you understood my point.

also, this is basically a broadband forum, threads should be considered for tech related things IMHO.

Threads should not be started just for the sake of number. The quality needs to meet a certain level. A very crude way would be by setting a minimum word limit.

Before disqualifying someone from the contest we need to make sure that the proportion of bullshit threads justifies the disqualification.

Nsim please make sure you dont start such threads and more over thats too short any way and there is no information passed on... You could try posting news items of tech related topics if you want to increase your thread count but this kind of threads will be merged with something that already is there...


Do not try to pull a fast one else we will have to make this contest applicable only to old members with a certain number of posts...

Why not open a new category for Contest. Let every one put their topic in this new category.
After the contest is over , you can move them to the proper category in forum.

this way we can get all topics for competition in one board. as said above , after competition is over you can move them to respective boards.
