If you can express yourself in HINDI fluently, and feel the opinion will be better reflected
in HINDI, please give YOUR own interpretation in English.

Earlier for quoting a proverb " OLD WINE in new Bottle" a member vehemently denied
"I don't drink wine " , and the then @moderator
issued an "INFRACTION" warning to me for a week !No explanations required from me. .

@moderator/s or @admin can take whatever action they feel like, (including banning a member,) and even an appeal, to Supreme Court is NOT possible !

A senior member here , lost 2000 odd posts and rep points, after he was banned.

There is a facility in USERIP , in which you can include my name or any other, to avoid,
reading the member's post, which you feel like reporting for violation of forum norms etc.

@admin is, experienced , enough,to decide,
when "enough is enough " and take
corrective action for IBF's sake.Many senior
members are missing now.

I wish, suggesting names for @moderator post, ( either paid or on honarary basis ) may be avoided by members.

You don't respond to the post,
and the concerned member will know that his posts should be changed/ modified for the better.

Since two of the three old moderators are absent, I will solicit a reply in this case.

There is nothing wrong if people want a moderator and suggest names. There are no moderators as of now and perhaps none are required at the moment. Of course, admin will make the final decision.

With regards to language, I must agree that people should not post in a language other than English except in a humour/joke thread. This is definitely not such a thread. The forum etiquette thread clearly states the "do's" and "don'ts". Still people have a fetish for behaving independently.

I do not agree with essbebe's interpretation that mods and admin are Gods and there is no appeal. When I was a moderator, I used infractions and banning with utmost caution. And some members did appeal against a decision. Unfortunately infractions cannot be removed once given - but they expire after some time (10 days in case of this forum). Banning can be revoked. I revoked a ban on a member even when I was physically threatened and cursed with the choicest swear words.

But Admin/Mods have the final say when there is no consensus. This is not true for just this forum but for any forum.

The "forum etiquette" thread was written by me. But I was quite linient on the rules. The only rule which I was strict on was the SMS rule. Otherwise, only when there were repeated incidents, I used the Red/Yellow card or Banning.

Yes. There are several old members missing and some esteemed members lost a few posts also. But there is no point in dwelling on history - except that one should learn from mistakes and avoid them in future.

I guess some rules need to be more clearly defined...

personally, i don't mind posts in languages other than english as long as they are mere phrases/jokes and do not take the space of a full page and become a chat thread.


@Admin: Can we have shout box ??
