I would request the Admin/Moderator to provide me Edit option for all my posts. Need to edit/delete some posts.

I doubt that it can be done. Else many will start asking to delete their content here. The idea of a forum is to encourage people to contribute voluntarily. Nobody forced you to post here.

Yes Admin, please delete all my posts and my ID. Thanks for your support. But I don't understand when I am writing to Admin and he is answering my posts, why do some people just can't lay off. They need to comment on something or the other. It is ridiculous.

Exactly, saira if you wanna just wanted to talk to admin u should have pm'ed him if u have created a thread in public you are no one to stop us.

this way anyone can come, take articles off their blogs, paste them in the contest and if you dont win, you take them off here and out them back to your blog ? This ain't good IMO....

The members you are yelling at are part of all major decision making here.

I don't mind deleting your threads that you posted for the contest if that's what you wanted initially... But just out of good will I would like to explain to you something you have no idea about and if you read this carefully it could mean the difference between success or failure of your site :---

The threads you are asking to be deleted have already been indexed by all major search engines.. infact they got indexed within two or three minutes after you posted them despite the fact that you had them on your site for days and had not even deleted them... what happened? Well your site suffered a duplicate content penalty as a result and the rankings of other pages of your site dropped as a result on Google (thats what I looked into so dont know about other SE).
Now you are heading for another disaster : You want this content deleted again from this site and you want to post it on your site... Although you might be able to get this content indexed after a few weeks but you will loose your trust from Google... and a more severe duplicate content penalty will kick in for the medium term.

I do not expect you to understand any of what I have written above but it was my duty to let other budding webmasters know what little I know about how search engines work.

Let me know what all you want deleted. I am not deleting this thread as this could help members in understanding the concept of ranking and search engines.

Um, could I add here that on most other forums there is a clear policy on this. As this might cause problems in the future there are a few routes we can take to ensure that there is no confusion about this:

• a warning can be given to all users initially that posts cannot be deleted unless you have posted private data that admins can help edit/remove
• a warning can be given to all users initially that posts cannot be deleted and users are responsible for maintaining their privacy
• we accept that people have the right to make such requests and these requests will be accepted (whether always or on a case-by-case basis)

I really appreciate everyone's comments here and thank Admin for giving away that wonderful goodwill guidelines. I am least concerned about site ranking and such stuff. I think I have made my point clear. I would request again Admin to delete all my posts/threads, as per your suggestion I don't mind keeping this thread active to help your members in understanding the concept of google ranking and SEO. At least I would be happy that I have helped Indiabroadband and it's readers in some way or the other. Good Luck.

This is a forum and you posted the query in the forum itself, where every member participates, its not ridiculous its called a forum, but then again I don't think its something you would understand!
