Default Suggestion for Vignesh and others from Hardwar..

This is the suggestion for those living in Hardwar like Vignesh and others..

I am taking this issue, because i have made this mistake myself, and now i feel really want others to know of this thing..

Many people spell and pronunciate the famous place as Haridwar, there is very small difference in phonetic terms between Hardwar and Haridwar but actually the difference makes everything completely changed...Chalega Chalega attitute se baaj aayo bhaiyon.. Mera Naam Mickey se Nickey ho jaye, ya Parminder paaji ka naam Parvinder ho jaye, to chahe unhe kuch naa ho, lekin mera Blood boil karega..

Har and Hari are the two Gods of Sanaatan Dharm. Har is for Lord Allmighty Shiv and while Hari means Lord Narayan or Vishnu..

Thats why we say Har Har Mahadev.. (Mahadev is Shiva).. noone says Hari Hari Mahadev (though many say Harry Harry Potter is the Mahadev like my small cousin )

so i think the difference is quite clear to all of you listening to me through this post.. Hardwar is the door city to Lord Shiva (in old times people used to go to Kailash through this way via Ganga)and not of Lord Narayan (Though he is a common visitor of the place and the two are good collegues and sit together )

To Hardwar ko Haridwar Na kaho , nahi to Harrydwar ho jayega..
Site from home gaya bhad mein... AIrtel se bolo FUP band kare.. BSNl se bolo 3G signal do!!!!>: (

    @mickey
Hardwar, or Haridwar, is one of the holiest places for Hindus in India. It is significant that pilgrims often go from Haridwar to the two great Himalayan shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath, as Har means Shiva (the deity of Kedarnath), Hari means Vishnu (the deity of Badrinath), and Dwar means gate. Hardwar is thus the gateway to the two holy shrines of Shiva and Vishnu. The town has also been called Gangadvar, meaning 'Door of the Ganga' as it is here that the sacred river Ganges leaves the mountains to flow out upon the Indian plains. Many years ago it was also called Kapilsthan after the great sage Kapil, who lived and meditated here. Today, Hardwar is the home of many Ashrams (hermitages and places for meditation) and Dharamshalas (rest houses for pilgrims) that have been established by various swamis, yogis and religious institutions.
Throughout the year large numbers of pilgrims come to bathe in the Ganges, especially at the Hari-ka-charan ghat (also called Hari-ki-Pauri), where a footprint of Vishnu is worshipped. Pilgrims also consider it important to visit the beautiful Shiva temple of Daksheswar.

Unfortunately Haridwar is the official name in maps etc.

I have a small doubt. The spelling of Hardwar is given as Haridwar by Uttarakhand Government website(http://uttara.gov.in/) and also by Indian Railways.

See. Its the way people say and it becomes the name. Now since people have named it as haridwar and since many people even confuse between har and hari, govt also named it so. But i want to clear you doubt. Naga saints are Shaiv i.e they worship lord Shiva. I am also shaiv, thats why It shud be hardwar and not haridwar. And dont you be with govt. They even write agara for agra in many places outside India as foreigners of many country know it so. Its our job to give it name as it should be.

Oh. I always thought the Government spelling to be correct
So the thing is that Hardwar is never pronounced as Hard war(sorry, if I am hurting anyone's feelings), but is pronounced as Hari Dwar. I think it should be pronounced as Har-Dwar.

Well i can understand ur point.

But i guess, ur post is not influenced by the famous shaiv(शैव) v/s vaishnav(वैष्णव)

(1.शैव: who think Shiva is the ultimate lord
2.वैष्णव: who think Vishnu is the ultimate lord)

As for me, i don't care whos ultimate lord. both are same for me & both are them are ultimare & hence, same.

    Logik

PS: what was the famous(?) name of the movie of the Kamal Hasan? was it Dashavatar. Where they tried to show this dispute.

I am against such disputes. But i just that i am Inclined towards Shiv. That doesnt mean and should not be taken as that i am partial to him. I just gave my point. Its like if your name is given a name somewhere from your neighbor. For me it means much.
