This is the suggestion for those living in Hardwar like Vignesh and others..
I am taking this issue, because i have made this mistake myself, and now i feel really want others to know of this thing..
Many people spell and pronunciate the famous place as Haridwar, there is very small difference in phonetic terms between Hardwar and Haridwar but actually the difference makes everything completely changed...Chalega Chalega attitute se baaj aayo bhaiyon.. Mera Naam Mickey se Nickey ho jaye, ya Parminder paaji ka naam Parvinder ho jaye, to chahe unhe kuch naa ho, lekin mera Blood boil karega..
Har and Hari are the two Gods of Sanaatan Dharm. Har is for Lord Allmighty Shiv and while Hari means Lord Narayan or Vishnu..
Thats why we say Har Har Mahadev.. (Mahadev is Shiva).. noone says Hari Hari Mahadev (though many say Harry Harry Potter is the Mahadev like my small cousin)
so i think the difference is quite clear to all of you listening to me through this post.. Hardwar is the door city to Lord Shiva (in old times people used to go to Kailash through this way via Ganga)and not of Lord Narayan (Though he is a common visitor of the place and the two are good collegues and sit together)
To Hardwar ko Haridwar Na kaho , nahi to Harrydwar ho jayega..![]()

(sorry, if I am hurting anyone's feelings), but is pronounced as Hari Dwar. I think it should be pronounced as Har-Dwar.
