Thread: sig problem

my sig is not showing up in post but in my profile one can see it why is that!! plz help

In fact signatures for many have disappeared. Mine too. No idea why.

We had a sudden influx of new registered members who created an id to leave a link on our site so the signature display rules have been changed a bit so only those posts will have signature displayed that have a certain amount of words in it... the word limit has been set after looking at those spam posts so that those posts will never display the members signature keeping spam away.

Just4kix's signature shows up there in the first post.

yep, lots of members join in and at the end of the message put links to their site and make it look as if it is their sig, reported a few of those spammers...


The new system seems fair, as long as the word count is not some 200 odd words :P

Can't we make signature available for members with 1000 posts ? Just like we did in case of links. So that too become a privilege like Avatar and solves the problem too. I think there will be an option to disable signature for a particular member group.

I dont know of any such mods and a new mod would mean more work at the time of upgrading and not only that but any unofficial mods are not guranteed to work with a newer version.

I really don't care too much about signature and all. If it is available, nice. If not, well just get on with it.

Another reason is that we have some people posting replies just so they can leave a link in a particular thread... it does bring in more content onto the forum but it is "stupid" content and instead of having 500 useless posts all over the place with tons of links in signatures I would rather have only 5 meaning full ones... Reduces spam.

Sig are a part of any forum! atleast allow sig of members with 1000+ posts
