@admin: the 15 post rule may be removed.
    1.
All the posts should go for moderation till the new member completes 15 posts. Posts not relevant to the thread must be deleted.
    2.
There is no great advantage with this rule, as a new member
can give as Annexure any file or links as hxxp://
    or by omitting http://www.
    3.
Even after 8000 odd posts my posts sometimes go for moderation and never appear.! I have to repost deleting the link/s or try procedure No 2. above !!!
    4.
A new member posting identical post in different threads just to fulfill 15 posts limit is as good as spamming.

That will increase the overhead for the mods. Also, it may confuse/irritate the good newbies and they may never come back.

This rule is there to discourage the bad webmasters from advertising their sites unethically. Most importantly the search engines do not count the links mentioned above. Hence, no SEO benefit for those webmasters. Signature is there to gain traffic for their websites.

That can be frustrating. I suggest that admin should try other anti-spam methods. For ex.: Mollom. It takes the seniority of the members into consideration.

I agree. I invite all the members to use the Report button whenever such posts appear.

Essbebe its much easier to track down spammers when they make 15 posts thats just thanks and thats right kind of remarks and all we have to do is delete everything and ban the user but if we didint have it in place the very first post can be used to link spam and if no one reports it we will have it sitting inside our forum like a cancer. It hurts our rankings as well to have spam links.
