Thread: Install a chat script

Please install a chat script in the forum, so that users can chat dynamically. It would be really helpful.

U may use an AJAX script, if resources is an issue. I can help in selecting, installing an appropriate script.

A few forums I know, there is a chat box, only admins can access. If the problem is diversion of queries, we can limit the access to only regular members. Regular members are well aware of forum rules and will anyway post the issue in forum. I think chat box with limited access will be a good idea.

I differ on that opinion. The main motive of any forum is to help out the noobs. Spread our knowledge and help out people who r not that technically sound. Discussions among the experts only is pointless.

A dynamic chat script will instantly solve problems and expert advice will be instantly available to people who REALLY need it.

I strongly back comet chat . It's highly useful and i've been using it for past 2 years in my own forum. I can provide the latest nulled version and even help in installing here.

Firstly I do not use nulled or pirated stuff be it scripts for any of my websites or my own computers or laptops..

We have had discussions on the chatroom thing before and decided against having one here.

perhaps we definitely need a chat facility. otherwise it would be like the olden days Radio doctor program of all India radio.
I know of one site Electronic Circuits Projects Diagrams Free that has chat facility
but with a notice that Chat is for general discussion and not for technical topics that could be posted in the site.
It really helps our members

We may give it a try and see how it goes. Members may spend more time on the forum because of the chat facility. We've the option to remove it later if members only use the chat feature, instead of the forum. Afterall, all the major social networking sites have the chat feature.
