Default A humble request to "OLD" and senior members on the forum

I would like to request every one who is regular on the forum to be a bit respectful to the newer members because there has been many instances where new people get extremely rude comments from older members and at times I feel helpless to act against older members due to the fact that they have been with us for years and its just human to take sides with those who you have known for years but its just not fair on newer members who come here to share their knowledge.

My humble request to every one on the forum is to make the new comers here feel welcome and expand our family here instead of insulting someone due to their limited nature of knowledge.

This is not directed to anyone in particular and is an observation I made over the years and reason why new people dont feel welcome and feel alienated.

Please make this forum a happier place and lets all help each other put a smile on some people's faces.

At last thanks every one for the massive contribution you have been making towards the knowledge bank we have here and for helping millions of people to solve their ISP and computer related problems.

    Thanks
    Parminder

I, for one, complete agree with the above course of action. Not too long ago, I was a newbie myself.

I would like myself to be notified immediately if I have been rude to new members. Either the offended member can himself/herself write to me or someone else can do so on his/her behalf.

Sometimes what one writes in a particular fashion, is read in a different tone by others. Hence if anyone finds my post offensive/rude/insulting or just plain unjust, do let me know. I will either explain what I really meant, or retract with an apology.

Forum moderation posts are a different matter.

    @Admin
Hope things will improve with the new moderator with just 45 odd posts,.!!!
He can really call the shots, as he may not be bothered about old and new members, and unlikely to read all the posts by old members exceeding 5000 or 10,000 posts !
Can mercilessly chop and edit everyone's post , showing no mercy !!!
and not bother about the contribution made to the forum by some members for years.

There is no question of "mercilessly" chopping off posts (as you have put in your delightfully refreshing manner) of any member, let alone old member.

Unless of course the forum decor is disturbed by such posts.

The view that moderators are "Gods" is also a wrong perception. Just recently, I banned one member because of some "differences" and "rude PM". He and I talked out later and I removed the ban. But moderators have a duty and that duty is almost always thankless.

If there is a disagreement, you can take this up with the moderator concerned. A PM can greatly help. If that does not, the member can take it up with other moderators and Admin.
