If I was you I would find an area that already has a local wisp operator with all those service providers also present in the area and see what the cable operator is selling the most. If you post a questionnaire you will get results that would be difficult to convert into business strategy in my view. It would be a lot easier getting in touch with a cable operator in my opinion and get their thoughts in this.

Questions should be related to what the service is like and what the customers want, as in regards to price vs speed, the kind of support required from customer service etc.

Exactly what i am working on. started with survey as well as talked to a guy who owned a cyber cafe in that area. Reliance franchisee has taken over his cafe in last year and now according to him that reliance franchise is monopoly player in the market. he managed to take over two other local players in the nearby areas.

anyways.. we are about to start survey people door to door in next coming few days.

one question sir.... why would any local wisp would help me :-/
n if i am supposed to get details from him at all... how shall i use him ? can u plz give some ideas

You could maybe print out a survey and then get someone to post it to every house in the area, then get it collected. It is a bit of hassle and a long shot but then this way you would get results from a lot of people and you would know which area is covered.

Why would they not help you if they are in a different area?

The information you get from them can be used to duplicate the business model and cost/price structure.

I think it maybe better if something like an online questionnaire was created, it would be much easier for people and also easy for you to collect and collaborate the information.
