Thread: Avatars.....not running

@Admin or whomsoever it may concern i have a query or a suggestion ...it looks like a request to me that, why this forum is not able to play GIF images of avatars for eg. my avatar is a GIf file but it is not playing and running so i am requesting please upgrade this forum so that it can play animated avatars

The reason we dont have animation and stuff like that enabled is that we get more then 30% visitors who access this forum using dial up connections and more then 15% who use either a gprs connection or a cdma based data card and if we allow large image files or animation ... it will increase the page loading time and some of those less fortunate visitors who come here using a dial up will spend 2-3 mins waiting for the page to load.

Apart from that .. allowing gif files in avatars carries a stron security risk as well which is what we dont have html enabled either and no java scripts...

If this world wide web only had nice people like you and no trouble makers.. we would have had a lot of goodies on this forum..

Forgot to mention... If its a small file .. please feel free to add it to your signature but you will have to upload it to some image hosting site and embed it as a picture inline and it should work just fine.

i cant understand what is the security risk in this and please explain what is stron security risk and what kind of trouble makers are you talking about upto which extent they can cause trouble and how to this forum.....

and you can power up your forum by installing phBB v3.0....i have seen many forums which are pwoered by this and they are awsome!
