    Default Worst service of Sun DTH

    Their customer care service is very bad. Nobody gives a right solution to your problem. Earlier either they don't even pick up ur call or it will be busy. Now atleast they reply to your call. But they are not giving the true solution or right information. I have tried to activate the jumbo south pack since yesterday. they say that it is activated. but iam not getting those channels.
    I have called their customer care service since yesterday afternoon about 10 times. Eveytime they say that it will be activated with in 30 minutes to 2 hours. some say 30 mins. some say 2 hours. now so many 2 hours have passed. but not activated.
    One fellow attended the call and gathered the details and asked me to wait . I had been waiting for 5 mins and again another fellow picked up asked again for the details of card no. and others.
    Still the channels is not coming.
    How to set the problem right?
    Please don't go for Sun DTH if you are planning to buy one.

    Worst thing is Sun Direct customer care executive won't provide you the correct solution of your problem.

    Default Not solved yet

    My problem has not been resolved yet. It has already been more than 15 days. My South Jumbo pack had been activated as per their answer. But I am not getting any of those channels in the jumbo plan.
    I have called the customer care more than 30 times so far. Each time i had to spend around 10 minutes for the call. Every time I have repeat what my problem is. They would reply the same thing everytime.
    I don't know what to do?
    Can anybody tell me a better DTH sevice?

    This the last message I send through their website:
    Dear Sir,
    I would like to bring to your kind notice about the ordeal I had been experiencing for the past 15 days. Despite my repeated calls and mails to the customer care I got no respite. Whenever I call the customer care they say that the problem would be rectified in 2 hours. Some one told 48 hours. I have already spent more than 100 rupees for the calls to customer care!

    The Problem is :
    I called the customer care on 30-12-2009 to activate the south jumbo pack. But i don't receive any of the channels in South Jumbo Pack. The say that it is activated already.

    Will my problem ever get solved??

    @Remo1

    Just log-in to SelfCare and check the status of your package activation, if it has been activated then it will be reflecting over there, just use the self care to activate deactivate the services as it is the best option available compared to CC.

    Use your Smart Card Number as your login username and The default password is "password", which you can change after you once login successfully.

    Thanks deep mohan. I will try it.

    I deactivated my south jumbo (Rs. 300) pack which was activated since 30.12.2009. But I lost the amount anyway. I activated small packages for Rs. 125. They are activated and received by my stb. Thanks dude.

    Reasons to avoid Sun Direct & Worst Experience with Sun Direct (Brief Review)

    I am one of the subscribers, who had installed Sun Direct through advance booking, during first phase, when it was introduced in December 2007. I had very bad experience with SD for the last 2 years & quit it last week then got Airtel DTH connection. I have listed the problems with Sun Direct for the benefit of others who are considering to buy Sun Direct.

    Negative Points:-

    1. Electronic Program Guide (electronic program guide) is a crap. Except in Sun channels, electronic program guide is not updated properly in other channels. electronic program guide is not at all available in many channels. When Setop box is started, it takes long time for electronic program guide to get updated.
    2. Picture Quality of channels which are competing with Sun is poor. Check the quality of Kalaignar TV when Maanada Mayilaada program is telecast. Same is the case of Vijay TV during popular programs. Picture quality of other non-Sun channels is also not good. (Unfair practice)
    3. No other Tamil Music channel, except Sun Music is available. I don't consider SS Music as Tamil Music channel. To avoid competition, Sun does not include Isaiaruvi, Jaya Max, Raj Music in the channel list. (Unfair practice)
    4. Their Alacarte channels are another crap. Standard channels preferred by many are Tamil channels, Kids channels, Nature related (Discovery, Animal Planet etc.), English Movies. You need to pay at least Rs.200/- for this.
    5. You can not rearrange channel orders as per your preference. This was available earlier and removed later. You are forced to keep Sun channels at the top.
    6. No interactive services even after 2 years. You can not check your account balance or purchased plan details in TV.
    7. Customer service is another crap. In case of any fault in Dish/Set top box, Sun does not take responsibility. You need to go behind the distributor who provided the Dish to you.
    8. No Toll-Free number for customer support. It is not easier to speak to customer support during odd hours or holidays.
    9. Recently SD threatened to remove Vijay TV from their channel list, which clearly shows bad attitude of Sun Direct. (Unfair practice).
    10. SD online portal does not work frequently.
    11. Sun is trying to become a Monopoly in media world. They forcefully removed Hathway from Cable Settop Box business through unfair practices. It should not happen in DTH world also.


    Positive Points:-

    1. Only DTH which provides three types of Tamil FM channels (Old, Classic & Latest) without any advertisements. You also have other AIR FM channels.
    2. You can watch many Tamil channels, with the basic package itself, which costs Rs.100 only.
    3. Adithya is available only in Sun Direct

    I agree with your points but some of them are rectified now like
    -5. You can not rearrange channel orders as per your preference. This was available earlier and removed later. You are forced to keep Sun channels at the top.

    we can rearrange using Favourite list with our own channel number.

    I want to add some more bad things from SUN Direct

    - Most of the tamil channels are not added in the list - Zee tamil, Caption TV, Makkal TV etc.,

    - We can't recharge for 1 year thru online.
    - After starting the setup box it goes to channel 001 Info; It doesnt memories my last viewed channel.
    - Removed Free to Air RADIO channels from the list. (Which is against Indian law)
    - Different volume in different channels. (Eg Mega TV with very high volume compare to other channels)

    All you got to do is remember your favourite channel numbers. Just key them in on the remote.

    Very few STBs have the last channel number memory. I think only Airtel has this feature.

    This is with every DTH. New TVs have a feature called automatic volume leveller. If your TV has this feature, use it.

    I wouldn't term any provider providing superior service but yes the superlative form would be good service which is not provided by Sun dth.

    Viewers this is a kind request from me ,plese whoever has an idea for going to sundirect please consider this message

    Sundirect is pure waste and it is very costly there are no positive points to say about sundirect

    1)poor poor customer service ,the service personnel are very rough and they dont attend calls

    2)hopeless call centre which they dont answer to resolve your problems

    3)alcarte packages are very costly and doesnt include many of the pchannels

    4) audio of certain encarta channels like animal planet are mixed either u get both hindi and english mixed which makes us unviewable

    TOTALLY SUN DIRECT SUCKS

    Thumbs down No Channel to update. Please re-scan.

    I get this msg everytime i press a button on my remote:
    "No Channel to update. Please re-scan"

    The customer care is even worse. The 3 methods that they suggested, namely:
    1. autoscan
    2. Manual scan
    3. restore to factory settings

    have met with no success.

    I recharged on the 2nd of july, 2010. Its been 9 days without tv, without world cup, without any kind of fun.
    Then, they said, there must be something wrong with the set-up box & charged 150 bucks for the replacement. ( Old box which was supposed to work).Unfortunately, even that did not work.
    Effectively, 500 bucks gone down the drain. I could have atleast helped the poor with that money. It might sound a bit rhetoric, but i would love to say that they are no better than thieves.

    Now they are saying, they have got some problem with their satellite. I don belive them.

    My suggestion:
    PLEASE DO NOT BUY SUN DIRECT.

    IF U HAVE BOUGHT, NO WORRIES. SUN DIRECT OFFERS FREE COACHING CLASSES:
    "LEARN HOW TO LIVE IN HELL WITHIN 10 DAYS"

    I have also heard SunDirect is shifting satellite from insat 4b to asiasat5. This will require them to pay carriage fee and there will be less DD channels.

    Default SUN Direct DTH - The Worst DTH in India

    My experience with Sun Direct DTH has been my worst ever. Sun DTH is very successful in making their customers cringe on many counts; they have set new record lows in customer service as well as service delivery.

    My experiences:
    1. Almost impossible to get thru their toll free no. Its difficult to get thru their local (paid) customer care number. I have try atleast 5-6 times and that even after 11 PM to get thru.
    2. Customer care reps have no idea on how to treat the customers or handle service requests. Request an escalation and pat comes the reply that the floor/ shift manager is not around.
    3. If the customer has called in connection with an existing complaint, I can bet 10:1 that the rep would say that their systems are either not working or extremely slow and will ask to call back at a later time. Pls note that all this happens after all customer credential validations have been done.
    4. Irrespective of your choice of English, the rep usually talks in Hindi. Great call routing/ IVR they have.
    5. The reps will happily register a complaint but on calling up subsequently to track the progress of the call, fail to give updates/ progress of the call.
    6. There is no mechanism to track the call/ ticket life cycle. No one has any idea regarding resolution time and who/ when will the problem get addressed!!!!
    7. It once hpnd with me; my complaint was closed unilaterally after THREE days. On inquiry, I was told by the rep that they were instructed to do so by their seniors!!!! CAN YOU BLVE IT??
    8. Dealers/ local reps have no interest to solve your problem. They demand payment upfront to even pay a visit. This is contrary to the claim on Sun DTH's Website or service agreement.

    Guys, switch to another if possible. Cheaper is never the best...

    Sun Direct has worst customer care service. Apart from this Sun Direct has every thing good including its plans and offers.
