    Default iPad and its advantages

    No seriously,iWant it!

For the past few months, we all have been heavily criticizing iPad and its lack of Flash and USB. Well, lets just leave that aside and have a look at what it is good at and why it is being treated like a benchmark.

The iPad sold more than 50,000 units just 2 hrs after launch and is still selling like hot cakes, so what does make this otherwise "critically flawed" product so appealing to the masses? Here are my thoughts:

    1) Its an Apple ! : When Apple first revealed the iPad, people speculated prices at around the $1000. It seemed fair knowing how Apple generally prices its products, $1000 is what we all were expecting, but at just $500, its was a pretty shocking revelation(in a pleasant way).

2)Great Build Quality: The iPad has the perfect size, feels great to hold and the overall build quality is superb.

3)Great screen: One of the best things about the iPad is its screen. Its an IPS(in plane switching) LCD panel with an LED backlight. It just looks stunning no matter at what angle you look at it. The colors are even and the touch works great. Its great for watching movies.

4)Decent battery life: 10Hrs of battery backup is not bad. The Nvidia Tegra may boast 100Hrs or so, but i will believe it only when I see it, but till then, 10hrs is good enough for me.

5)Great OS: The OS is really friendly and easy to navigate. Yes it does not have multi tasking, but as I have said before, this can be updated by apple soon or there will be a hack for it soon.

Well, apart from all this, you get a great library of apps at the apple store, plenty of games to choose from too !

If you guys feel there is more to it, please add, avoid posting the short comings of the iPad here, we have plenty of other threads for that.

The iPad also has great sound quality, as good as the iPhone amd far better than phones like the HD2.

No doubt iPad looks great but in my opinion is overpriced at the moment. I would rather buy a decent netbook.

Perhaps when prices fall and more options are added, I may think about it.

The only use I can think about for myself is that when I wake up I run to turn my PC on although I have access to e-mail from my phone but I hate doing that now as it just takes a lot of time so if I had an Ipad I can use it in bed to check some of the mission critical stuff I take care of and also check my e-mail.. although I cannot imagine how I would type on it because typing on Iphone is not faster then typing on a nokia e71 and I hate them both just because I can hardly ever reply to e-mails properly..

It also supports some very good accessories like the iPad Keyboard Dock.
It also features a rear 30-pin connector which can be used to connect to an electrical outlet by using the USB power adapter, even sync with our pc.

Well, at launch, we all felt that the price was great, but I don't know why we feel its overpriced. Yes,$130 just for 3G is a huge rip off,but then the base $500 is not too bad.

Dont compare this product to a netbook. Its got a far far better screen, great looking OS and has great audio quality (used CX400s on friends iPad). The battery life is also great.

Basically, Its a great product for you if you really like books. Its a great ebook reader. Also, if you miss flash a lot and say that "no videos" is a deal breaker, well, you can watch videos on Facebook as they use html, this is just in case you did not know.

There are some really cool aps for the iPad, yes you have to pay for them, but its just $1-$10 in most cases. Will do an article on the best apps for iPad.
