Thread: No to iPAD

Stop using i-Pad. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is anyday better in features. But Apple wins over by brand name and style. I have compared the two very carefully and I can safely say that Galaxy is far superior because:

- Android allows more flexibility, customization, personalization, etc.
- Apple is too restrictive - whatever it does it does brilliantly but little else
- Apple iTunes Store is restrictive - I cannot convert my Blu-Ray digital copies (legally purchased) and upload to iPod/iPad because I am not resident of USA
- you cannot copy music/movies from one iPad/iPod to another iPad/iPod (at least not in a straight-forward legal way)
- Android applications are catching up to iTunes apps
- If you wish and want, Android supports Flash (personally I don't like Flash)
- Android supports many e-book readers including Kobo and Kindle

But when it comes to sheer style, feel good, status, etc. iPad is ahead. While I won't say a blanket boycott, I have decided to avoid Apple products as far as possible.

My latest acquisition - the Samsung Galaxy SII. Prefer it to iPhone any day.

For me Apple is like Mercedes. People buy their products from heart and not from brain.
Let people decide what to buy and what not to. Everybody nowadays researches well before buying products. Experience is the greatest teacher.

No one is saying "stop sale of Apple products".

I disagree with the Apple/Mercedes comparison. A few years ago there was a joke "If Microsoft made cars instead of GM ...".

I have only one thing against Apple - they put a lot of restrictions. For instance, no support for Flash, no USB (in previous iPad), no external SD in iPhone, etc. But the greatest restrictions is with iTunes store. You can buy only those iTune Apps that are released for your country.

yes... truth j4k Apple products dont allow the user to have more flexibility like other users..

I switched to android about 1 months back. now I would not switch back for anything. Android is the best.

Saving money to buy a tablet, waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich launch and reviews. Already have Ipod and it sucks when you can't multitask. So Ipad will be a big No for me.

Confusion ... when did iPod ever claim multitasking? Did you mean iPad instead?

yea, Ipad & Ipod, both don't have multitasking and its a pain, as you need to come out of one task to do the other and you can run multiple tasks at same time. Apple sucks at this big time and in spite of all their technological advancements this has been a big drawback and let down. They should do something on this.

buying iPad half of price will be for the brand
