    Default Suggestions for a tablet

I am still in the process of choosing a new phone, and from a phone I have moved onto a tablet. I think it would be a better option to choose a tablet because I would be able to do some work on it, as well as taking calls. When it comes to choosing a tablet this is where I will need help from forum members. My budget is not big, as I believe that spending a lot of money on a phone or a device like a tablet is not worth it.
Main requirements for the tablet are screen size should be above 6 inches, processor should be at least 1.2GHz, and the brand should be reputed. My budget is max Rs14000.

That is an option I looked into, and I have to admit it has got good specifications, but because its a new brand, I took a step back thinking it would be best to get some reviews from users before I jump ahead to get it.

It cant be any worse then what is available in the market for that price range. Flipkart has a reputation to keep so cannot afford to mess up with customer. Go for it I would say. Infact I am going to order one for myself.

galaxy tabs are a bit at the + side of your budget, and, Lenovo Tabs are good as well. Flipkart's tablet, though questionable due to its origins, is looking good. Only time will tell, however, wait too long, and a new one will come along, and the equation will change again!

In my experience it is not a good idea to buy the latest technology as it comes at a premium that cannot be justified. It is a good idea to give the top of the range products a miss unless money is not a factor which in most cases is including me. I say get this flipkart one and use it for a year and a half or two may be then get rid of it and buy something cheap again. Smart phones, tablets, laptops they all become antiques after 2 years these days.

Yes that is true, but I think a month or two of waiting will be good, just to make sure that the Flipkart's own branded tablet is worth it.
Another option I thought of was the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab, whats your call on that?

I think HP put out solid hardware, that being said, their tablets have been duds! I say, grab a HP tab in a sale or with a truckload of freebies, else a nexus 7 / nexus 10 is a better deal even though its dearer.

    Lenovo, look at Lenovo...

Thanks netherwinterknights. I did have a look at some Lenovo tablets, but again I didn't know whether the brand was good enough, but as you have suggested it, I will take it into consideration. So the choices are HP, Lenovo, Nexus and Flipkarts own brand thats if the reivews are good.

How about Asus brand tablets? I haven't really heard much about the brand or their products. Is it worth considering this option?

That is where a lot of people stop because of the brand being new, but as its by Flipkart hopes are high, as they need to keep their reputation as well.

Thank you all for the suggestions, but now I am back to getting a phone. I have decided that getting a tablet will not be suitable, as it would be too big to carry around! I think a decent size phone would be sufficient.
