I do have a new docomo sim with Rs 38 balance.
Iam right now in chennai and will travel to Hyderabad next week.
Docomo has No - 3 G in both the states .

"Admn" Mickey said too Tata "Gprs " speeds are good in the night.
So I was planning to charge rs 48/1 Gb gprs pack.
Instead of 48 pack I shall do as you said tomorrow and check.( I have to set up APN in my android first)
In chennai I will not get 3 G like speeds as there is no 3G in TN by Docomo.

Apart from BSNL 3G & Photon Plus 2G,
I have 2 Gprs packs in 2 Voda sims running thro end of April ( rs 98/2GB + rs 599 -U/L 1 month) ,So Iam in no hurry of any Gprs pack till end April .

Man- tata computer is sharp.It debits digital Rupees in nano seonds!! They must have loan shark tradition in their genes !!

I have a new Docomo sim with rs 38 credit. ( fresh sim @ rs 10 )

Ok .Let us set up a APN first in the android - I thought !

Since the phone is on 3G Only mode ,got a notofication -such networks not available in Chennai.

Then Saved a new APN with "tata docomo" name ("tata is crap" also ok)
and real apn : "TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET". (other settings -eiether leave blank or comes auto)

Then immediately "E" signal came . (Means-gprs settings ok)

Since the phone automatically checks some thing, checked the balance *111#- balance Rs 14.59! Thank You!!

I said FxxK ! Any way let us check speed test and opened the speedtest app in the phone and checked speed. 128 kbps up and down load .

Nothing big to write home about.

Then I thought atleast we will subscribe Rs 11 Gprs pack. checked balance *111# again .balance : rs 4.59!!!

I tried valiantly to recharge "rs 5 " Gprs pack -( 1 day ) by *141*5#. ( thinking that computer will have the heart to forgive 41 paise after eating Rs30+)

Then came the reply to rub salt in the wound . " Sorry ,You have no balance,please go and recharge ".
Disgusted, removed the sim and put back the Voda sim.

Still Voda 3G signal is on with out any 3G recharge (This sim is on rs 599/1 month gprs u/l pack )
but no deductions so far !! They are keeping the "trap on" to debit big later may be !

Moral of the story :
1.First activate a Gprs pack in a cheap phone and then insert sim in smart phone.
Moment "E" or "3G" signal available it pings and downloads some thing but we get debited from the main a/c (rates higher than gprs /3g pack rate !!)

2.tata docomo "E"speed 128 kbps in chennai in day time. we will recharge some rupees and subscribe rs 5/11/15/48 gprs pack & check "night Gprs speeds" after we recover from this mental trauma.

3.No 3 G network in Chennai to enjoy high speed any way.

you will get this much in 2G recharge. to get more, you need to shell out more money on 3G recharge

wait for other sims to get their validity over and after that do a recharge same as the 1st sim (in which prob exists), then you will agree to waht i am saying
