    Tata Motors launches Xenon pick-up

The Tata Xenon XT pick-up launched in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Tata Motors launched the lifestyle four-door five-seater pick up Xenon XT on Wednesday in Mumbai.

The vehicle is priced in the range of Rs 7.62 lakh to Rs 8.58 lakh. “The lifestyle pick up is a segment which is yet to develop in India. It lends itself to all kinds of engagements,” said Mr Rajiv Dube, President, Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors.

“We will be launching 11 products in financial year 2008-09. Six we have already launched and five are in the pipeline. New Indigo, a crossover of MUV and SUV, Grande Punto from Fiat are going to come out soon,” he said.

The Xenon carries a warranty of two years or 75,000 km and will be retailed through 58 Tata passenger car dealerships across 39 cities. About 6,000 units of Xenon have been sold in Thailand, Algeria, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

Tata Motors serves the Thailand market from its facility in the country while it manufactures Xenon at its Pune plant and exports to other countries. Mr P.M. Telang, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said the company started exporting the pick-up from India about a year ago.
The Xenon XT can be customised to suit individual preferences through a range of accessories which will be on sale along with the vehicle. Accessories include bed-liners, fog lamps, canopy, boot lid and rollover bars

    Default Practicality should prevail

Where are you always going to conveniently find place to park a vehicle as big as Xenon. Mahindra Xylo is better instead. Practicality prevails when it comes to Mahindra Xylo.
