Rep Power: 1 | Do you think that TATA new and the world cheapest car "Nano" can lead to global disaster. As you know people would surely go for this car as it is cheap but it can have a lot of negative effect on many different things. One of these example is that this car as being cheap would be produced in huge numbers but as it does not have any security feature which in terms of accident can even cost life and second thing when this car would be completely useless it would create a large number of metal scrap. Do you think it is good? What do you say about it? |

Rep Power: 1 | Well as of the junk then i think the recycling thing can handle it but as of the traffic chaos then i am sure that it would have a big negative effect on ourself. |

Rep Power: 1 | "Nano" would just change the scenario of the two wheeler market in India. Nothing much more then this.. I dont think it would lead to global disaster. |

Rep Power: 1 | Not a global one but in india surely... what will happen to the roads here which are already jammed with cars... has any1 thought what wud happen (that is about to happen) if you replace all motorcyles on the roads with nanos... the pollution levels wud go off the roof, there wud be jams all over the place... The only upside of the production of nano in my view is that the people driving the 800 will NOT have the cheapest car in the world anymore |

Rep Power: 10 | Delhi will become a living hell If people start using cng on nano then every bike owner will find driving a nano much cheaper and a lot of people will switch from bikes to nano.. I would be more than happy to see that happening if Delhi government can do something about the traffic situation that will develop |

Rep Power: 5 | It is interesting to note that most of the "Nano" enquiries were from people wanting a second car - and not from first time buyers, as was widely expected. This could a few things: - Second car owners may or may not convert their enquiry into a purchase. I foresee some issues in such people going for a "lesser" car. - First time users and up-converts from 2-wheeler to 4-wheeler class may wait for reports on the car before buying But in the long run, if volume sales really click, the roads will become a full fledged horror flick (from the nightmare of current). But all people have the right to a car. In Pune, the talk is on for a Metro but going by the Bangalore example I have no idea when it will see the reality. If I have a good clean metro, I will stop driving tomorrow.

Rep Power: 10 | Assuming that you mean metro trains by "metro" We already have them here in Delhi and in my opinion it has not changed the traffic siruation much... rush hour is still a big no no The main problem is that we in India dont have to go through a strict test before we get our liscence. |

Rep Power: 5 | By "Metro", I did mean metro rail. I am assuming that the reason why traffic situation has not been helped much in Delhi is because the metro is not spread out in breadth. How about the traffic situation in Metro connected areas? Still the same or worse? And yes. We Indians have no traffic sense. Even I am sometime forced to jump lanes - I hate doing it but have little option. Police are only interested in lifiting vehicles from "no parking" areas and accepting bribes to release them later. If only Police start hefty fine for lane cutting and driving on wrong side, we can improve. In UK and Europe, the roads are no wider than ours but everything is still so smooth. |
