    Red face problem in port forwarding in utorrent

    the port in utorrent is not forwading properly
    ca u plz help

    Please state the router model/make. Also please disable any firewall softwares, if being used.

    how do i find the modem name
    i have the infinity 384 plan wimax
    the windows firewall is being used and and exception has been added in it

    disable the firewalls pls. But without knowing the model make how could we suggest you anything. Ok atleast tell the current defaulted port atleast.

    open your modem status page in any browser to know the modem details ...

    type 192.168.1.1 in your browser url space..

    Disabling Firewall is not necessary. When you install uTorrent, it adds the Windows Firewall exception automatically. I am using Windows Firewall and I have no issues.

    @siddhantchd, you need to do the following:

    Method 1:
    You can configure the modem in bridge mode and create a dialer application. All ports will be forwarded by default in this mode. This is the easiest method.
    OR
    Method 2:
    a) Assign a static IP address to your PC/laptop.
    b) Login to your modem (http://192.168.1.1)
    c) Use the NAT/DMZ option to bring your PC/laptop in DMZ.

    Try using UNnP, its the easiest way to forward ports
