Thread: Static IP Usage.

I am using a Tata Indicom Postpaid Connection and i have been alloted a static ip. But when i try to use the static ip i get the modem page. I have used nat to redirect to a pc in the lan but it doesn't work. Please help me how to set this up. I am using a billion 5200s modem provided by tata indicom.

I didn't quite get that part. Can u please elaborate?

I have a static ip given by Tata Indicom. I had used nat settings in the modem to redirect all port 80 requests to a static lan ip in the network. But after setting this also when i request for pages using the static ip the webpages of the modem loads instead of the pages from the server running on the local machine inside the lan to which these should be forwarded.

I was trying to get to the local webserver using the static ip. But i was in the same lan as the server was. When i tried the static ip from a different network i was able to get pages from the local server. So there was no problem and the Nat was working fine.

So i learned
1. Do not check if the static ip is forwarding to the local server from the same network / lan
