Default Help with TATA BB Login + Router

Anybody here has any experience with routers? I was thinking of buying
    this one:

    Netgear Wireless Router WGR614 v6

    for INR 1550/-

Need some advice on the following:

    * I've already been given a static IP (I think it's static, I'm not sure) from TATA (10.9.60.xx), and the default IP for NETGEAR routers starts with "192.168.1." so how exactly would this work out?

    * I use a javascript page to login, so how would I set up the settings for the router to login automatically (PPPoE)?

    * My PC has been assigned a MAC address would this cause any problems?

    * Any other things you guys think should be mentioned feel free....

U can verify whether u have a static or dynamic IP by visiting portals such as What Is My IP Address? - IP Address Lookup, Internet Speed Test, IP Info, plus more

I am unsure about the second query. Members who are using tata indicom in pppoe mode may answer that. Frankly i think it cannot be done.. But still am open to suggestions..

Every networking device is assigned a mac address. It will not pose any problems..

    It says:

    Your IP Address Is
    59.164.145.233

Now how can I determine if this is static or not?

In my network settings I'm using manual not automatic.

Disconnect the connection and reconnect it. Checkout the same website for your IP. If it is displaying the same, then u are on static. if it is displaying another other IP then it is on dynamic IP addressing.

Disconnected and logged out of the connection, the IP remains the same.

Ok, since my IP is static then why do I have manual ip enabled on my pc? It doesn't work when I put it on automatic.

    Ok. Thanks.

I would reserve further comments until fellow Tata Indicom subscribers also start responding to this thread.
