Default TATA WIMAX + Router Info Reqd

    Hi,

I am using TATA WIMAX Connection with 256Kbps speed and Dynamic IP. Now I planning to buy a wireless router to share the internet.

Can i do this with 256Kbps speed and Dynamic IP?

If it wont work with Dynamic IP? Will it work with Static IP? If so will TATA charge something for Static IP?

And last one, Out of Routers which one is better? D-Link or Linksys?

    Regards
    Ram

    Hi Ramakaanth

    Welcome to Indiabroadband.net

Yes, you can use your Tata Wimax to share connection between 2 or more computers but please mind that Tata will not support this, tata supports only your main computer without any wireless router.

For this connection you need Static IP address as you can not make connection with dynamic IP address.

Tata will not charge you anything extra for static IP address and the only thing you need to do is to call them and ask for a static IP.

if you want to choose between D-Link and Linksys only then D-Link is better but if you can consider one more option then go for Netgear.
