Thread: LinkSys Router with TWO LAPTOPS

Hi,

I have Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router( I bought it yerterday) with TIBB(WiMax) Connection(Dynamic IP).

As per the threads in this forum i have changed the IP Address of the router to 192.168.2.1 and MAC address has been cloned with my PC.

Now i have connected the Cable from Modem(TI) to Internet Port of the Router and From one of the Eathernet port to LAPTOP A. Now i got the TI login page and working fine. At the same time my LAPTOP B able to connect to Internet Wirelessly( Which not asking for username and password).

I am not able to see the wireless networks in my Laptop A. and If i remove the Cable from Laptop A to Router Internet in Laptop B is not working

Could you please tell me how to use Internet in Both the Laptops Wirelessly and Independently?

Do the following:

1. First make sure that both laptops are able to connect and surf the internet via WRT54G2. Connect both via LAN cable first - simultaneously. Wireless connection should be tried later.

2. Remove MAC address cloning

3. Enable DHCP on WRT54G2 and set TCP/IP properties to automatic on both laptops

4. Ensure that you are getting the correct IP address on both laptops - check with ipconfig command.

5. Once wired connection is checked for success, then go for wireless connection. Refer the guide: Solution for multiple machines connecting to same BB connection.
