Default Automatic timeout problem with Broadband

I own tata indicom wimax broadband connection. I recieve timeout problems due to which my torrent downloads are stopped automatically after a certain . I dont know how much. I have been given a dynamic ip and the broadband connection starts by logging in my login info in a freshly started browser page.Any way to overcome or software to open browser and reconnect when session timeout happens.

i have got a wired connection and facing the same problem.

one thing which sumtimes works for me is to keep a ping window continuosly on.

    Start -> Run

    ping a.b.c.d -t -l

    where a.b.c.d = default gateway.

keep this window open, it may help u to avoid timeout.
this is only an experimanetal solution.

another option perhaps is to make a script or a macro which records all the actions of loggin in like opening browser page, typing url, entering username ,pw in fields and hit on logon button and run it in scheduled taks.
i m myself doing sum research on it, will let u know if anything +ve

Being wried connection as you say, have you been given a static ip? But mine is a dynamic ip and I dont know any info other than my username and pw. "The default gateway i.p ", should I enquire about that with the customer care. So far they never answered any of my queries properly.

Nopes, i dun have a static IP. I have a dynamic IP.

IN xp, you double click the connection icon in system tray
click on properties, select TCP / IP, then select properties.

there u will find the IP address of yr default gateway. Defualt gateway is not yr static IP.

    see screenshot for more details

    Default re to ur issue

    Hi sunragav,
I have no idea about Wimax,so cant say any thing but the issue u r getting is called is ideal time out, confirm with the call centre for the same.

    Hi tusharch,
even urs is the same problem of ideal time out, solution for this is to call up a call centre and register a Service request for this issue with them another simple solution is call up the field engineer and inform him about the ideal time out issue..he will get it rectified.the best thing u can do to keep ur conn working always is whenever the fe visits u for any issue rectification give him some chai pani.......

    thanx for the feedback.

i have worked out a temporary solution myself by automating the network repair action in windows. Using Jitbit Macro recorder, I recorded he entire action of repairing a network connection i.e. right click network icon, click repair & then CLOSE the small pop-up window into a .exe file. the .exe file runs and repairs the net connection every every 10 mins. (windows scheduled task) & it works greattt ! i haven't yet figured out the dos command equivalent to network repair. probably its a combination of ipconfig /renew, arp -d & netsh .

Similarly, macro can be made for automated login. Curls script is another option.

i will chk wid call centre anyway as u suggested.

    dear sungarav,

u can try curl script / jitbit macro recorder for automating login / logout.
