I have been using Tata Indicom Broadband with dynamic IP. For the last 10-15 days the DNS ping results are discontinuous. i.e, the connection is becoming discontinuous. It becomes a problem in case of HTTP downloads and voice chat specially.

But, when i ping the default gateway or the IP address the ping result is continuous.

I called up customer care, lodged complain - but no +ve response from their side. Then i talked with the local nodal officer and the network manager. After checking the connection - the network manager said there is no problem on their end.![]()
This cannot be a problem with my system coz I am facing this in all 3 PCs at my home. Why is this happening? Anything I can do to solve this? Or is this some problem from Tata Indicom's end? What is the difference in DNS and IP ping results actually?
